Ross-Littlewood paradox: it’s impossible to determine how many balls are in the vase or whatever because if you do it an infinite number of times, then there is no end to the cycle. You literally never stop therefore, you can never stop to determine how many are in there because you’re still adding/removing forever.

I'm a bit late, but the Ross-Littlewood Paradox reminds me of how infinities are classified, or at least how I learned about them at college. Basically, infinity is infinity, but there are different types/sizes of infinity which are described in relation to each other, rather than explicitly defined. Consider infinity, now consider double infinity! We know both are infinite, but one is described to be larger. When applying it to this paradox, the answer is that there is a larger infinity being put into the vase than being taken out of it. Even if you infinitely repeated the process described, you could never remove more than what is being added at the same time. Thus, there is an infinity of marbles inside the vase that is 9 times larger than those removed. When infinities are boiled down to this it makes it a bit easier to understand for sure

As a man who is relatively good looking and has traveled on the side of the road on-foot in my youth (both in urban and rural settings), I can say that there have been three or four times "well-seeming" older men have tried to give me rides. I've been a skeptic and cynical since practically birth, so I always say no, but each time they never "looked" like "bad people", but something just told me to always decline. Ross-Littlewood paradox is inherently flawed. If you do the series of events (add 10, then subtract 1) infinitely, there is no end. Edit: My bad. You mentioned this just after I posted. 🙃

The answer to the are and balls problem is 8 Infinity (8 times Infinity), which I think is pretty obvious, at least to me??? So, starting with the vase process: you put 10 balls in, but take 1ball out an infinite number of times. Leaving 9 balls for each process an infinite number of times; or 9 times Infinity. 9 Infinity. Then consider the removed balls: 1 has been taken out an infinite number of times; or 1 times Infinity. Or just 1 Infinity. Now, you subtract: 9 Infinity - 1 Infinity = 8 Infinity Wasn't that fun! 😃

Yeah, the ping pong ball paradox. Infinity can't be factored in as any number as it is infinite. Therefore it wouldn't matter how many times you remove 1 ball if you keep adding more. So, the correct answer should be an infinite amount of balls if we use logic. God I love math!! That answer is just my own opinion though.

Oh, but it is. The observable Universe isn't infinite, but there's a decent number of Cosmologists that think the entirety of the Universe is actually infinite. Also, even if matter were finite but roughly evenly distributed around an infinite Universe the amount of matter would also be infinite- but that infinity would be smaller than the infinity of the Universe. And that's why transfinite theory fucking rocks!!!
