Curious about how that duration and lift will go on a 1.8 vs the 1.6 it was meant for. But, the chop of a good cam can't be beat! Happy/excited for the progress.

Me too. Shouldn't be too much of a power band difference aside from maybe lowering it a few hundred RPM. The 1.8 is kinda their stroker lol.

You can try to increase the usage cycle of your boost control in the range of 3000 to 5000 to have the full boost on your GT35 faster and make it more fun.

OEM variable intake changes for high-torque or high-horsepower alternatives. GM has an informative description on the theory of operation. I don't know how easy that would be to map with a turbo. I don't think race cars typically have a variable intake. In any case, the OEM intake is not "turbo ready" lol.

You're right about that! With the VVT and VIM, does make it a lot harder to tune.

With the front oil leak. I doubt it is this but the 1.8 oil coolers like to really creep in on the leaking. And they leak absolutely everywhere. Ngl my 1.8 currently is doing that and its everywhere but the top of the engine.

True. The oil cooler is holding up fine. Definitely got a leak coming from the front because it's dripping where the balancer is, but I'll chase it down.

Absolutely! Will take a little machining on the thrust of the camshafts, otherwise will fit right up but with mechanical valve and buckets.

@cmattdabrat thank you for the response!! I've been wanting to supe up my car for a while now. Saturn never made a Saturn Astra Redline like they did the Ion. The Astra is based on the Opel/Vauxhall Astra in Europe, and they have a VXR/GTC Astra, which is the sporty version overseas.

Most cars that are modified today the VVTs are always knocked out. Just too much issues. You're better off

Get an AWD trans, driveshaft, rear diff, axles, and hubs from a AWD Trax. You would more than likely have to mod and machine somethings, but probably the cheapest way.

It's the same thing as the 1.8, just less stroke and bore. If I had the time and money, would be a fun project, but this one project alone is enough of a money pit.
