I’m late to the comment section but I do want to say once you mature as a Christian you realize that fasting from social media, worldly music, is all apart of the fast when you fast from food. I love that y’all are talking about this because the social media fast stuff never say right with me. I remember one time when I fasted the Holy Spirit told me in the midst of me being hungry and wanting to go to sleep to “ rise and praise God” and I told Jesus to fill my belly up with his word so that I could praise him and not be overly concerned with food. Chile the hunger went away and I was able to complete my fast. This happened to me twice The first time I was doubting and of course I didn’t get fed because I was too concerned about my stomach. The second time I realized I had to overcome the whininess of my flesh with the word of God and it really blessed me to stay faithful to my fast unto the Lord :)

I can recall really trying to hear from God about a relationship and being so frustrated thinking why is God so quiet??? And almost a week later one of my favorite KZbin influencer made a video stating that "sometimes God is quiet because he already gave you the answer and he's just waiting on you to accept it". I took that as my sign to go ahead and date this guy. Fast forward to more present I prayed and asked God to prepare me for the heartbreak but remove me from anything or anybody that was holding me back from my purpose.....thankfully the breakup didn't break me.

I know someone who was the direct result of an ultimatum, and it put them in marriage they realized later they shouldn't have been in. Yes, it speaks to them, not knowing how to properly handle that situation and see it for what it was, but I also truly agree that an ultimatum should not be abused, which is what it appears did happen.

I gave my husband an ultimatum.. we had been together about 2.5 years and then I found Jesus! Like created a true relationship with Him and the Lord had me move from my husband because we were fornicating. I left and moved back with my parents and I told him I will be a wife and mother by the time I’m 25, whether that’s with him was up to him. But I kept telling him if you’re unsure of me that’s okay I’ll leave you alone lol. I moved back in 5 months? I folded😩. He proposed a few months later and I literally got pregnant that same night. Whew the condemnation was rough! We got married before our daughter was born! It can be quite the situation lol.

There should be a game plan. Some kinda well worded conversation with questions without anger. Without ultimatum. I don’t feel a woman should have to wonder about her future with a man she loves and wants a future with. Especially when it’s the man who has to do the asking. Well worded conversations should come in different levels. Like do you want to get married? Why don’t you? Or you don’t know, why don’t you know? Can you say what are you waiting for. I had none of these questions. I got married in 1982. Never wanted to be married. Soon after a few years separated. Still married. No divorce but separated for over 30 years. Never wanting to ever get married again. I’m good with this. Bcuz I’ve never met anyone that I could see myself happily married to for the rest of my life.

I’ve learned so much from you two and I’m older than your parents. It’s obvious both of you were raised well in what should be expected in marriage. My mom passed from cancer when I was 15. She was diagnosed when I was 10.. so my education in life was not there. My marriage fail in two years. But I’m sure if I had you two to learn from it would have been so much better.
