I can't believe I didn't know this existed. I love the work of these women.

Discovering this from the Time Magazine... powerful intricacies of histories woven in America. Great work that can communicate intense pieces/understandings...that provoke considerations and understandings. Two powerful women, excellent Artists... ministering healings, enlightenment, palatable discourse, and it like a prelude to times we are in, now. The dress-wearing is questionable, seems a bit unmanaged ... ? However... extraordinary Artists! Thank you for your work and contributions to raise the consciousness of the masses.

That first woman who asked a question at the end of the lecture was rude! Lady sit down already! Sheesh!

After watching this, you almost want to be done with sugar

Unfortunately, "we" are addicted to sugar. It is contained in everything we consume, almost. "We" could also almost want to be done with Cotton. I think, retribution would be the icing on the cake or the Sphinx, if that is not asking too much.

Why not?

Laughter is the best medicine. I sometimes laugh when I should be crying, and people may think I'm weird. Some people swallow their pain with a grain of salt, others walk softly while carrying a big stick, many do grin and bare it, under the spell of living and admiring great art.

Why do you object to her having a sense of humor?

Did anyone else watch this and recognize how passive aggressive and transparent Ava is being towards Kara and her work? THIRTY WHOLE MINUTES! on why she is creating work like this if black people do not approve and also insinuating that Kara does this kind of work only because she "knows" it will provoke an extreme response.

Ava, is just getting down to the point. Ava is a fan of her and has her work on her Instagram.💗

I didn't think she was passive-aggressive at all. There were moments when Ava seems to want to prompt Kara along. I was impatient at times with the pacing of her style of answering ( a reflection on me, not the artist, who seems to be introverted, very thoughtful in her responses, and not some polished celebrity on some movie junket. I think Ava was just a little direct at one or two moments and seemed to just want to keep Kara on track and try to engage her. But Ava's RESPECT for this artist completely comes through the entire interview. It was awesome watching to highly intelligent and talented women engage and just watch the interaction. Loved it. DAMN, I love heady women!
