Sadly I see blatant forced loss attempts and successes every day. Karn and leyline against aetherflux generator and charbelcher. Sacrifice kill spells against hex proof. Cling to dust vs Re-Animator. Strict proctor/ hushbringer vs Heliod combo. Etc.

J is pronounced exactly as he said. You English speakers have your head turned flipped upside down. English is the worst language on the planet if you want to represent the sounds of the letters, J is pronounced /j/ as for example the German words Ja, and Jäger, not /ʤ/ or as it's written normally these days /dʒ/ or using the modern equivalent, /dz/.

A desert doesn't mean sandy, it means they have a low amount of precipitation. There are deserts in the arctic that are mostly shrub land. And apparently, according to folks on Reddit, Dopplegang will reliably crash the game from like X=4 or 5.

Card draw in Magic is never represented in a card's flavor as just drawing a card, it's always something like "gathering intel" or "gaining insight" or whatever reward it needs to be to make sense in the context, so since card draw is one of the most universally good things you can do in Magic it makes sense they would use that to represent the nebulous power of the ring. Also they literally tacked on the downside to represent the burden of the ring. Just because you don't bother to think about flavor doesn't mean the developers didn't think of it. TLDR: It is lore accurate. Card drawing is metaphorical, just like it always is.
