I went on Galactica for the first time last week and I love it ( I've only visited Alton towers 3 times now) . Its ranked number 2 in my top 3 coasters. If any changes comes to Galactica, I would only prefer a development on the theme and not a removal. Also your idea for the re-theme of Galactica being the good guy against Nemesis sounds really good.

I think it delivers a different feeling to any of the other coasters in the whole country, so I am rooting for a retheme as well

Alton Towers can retheme this coaster all they like, but they CANNOT get rid of it. It’s one of my favourite coasters on the planet.

I've been to Alton Towers 6 times but I never rode Galactica. But it looks like a good ride

It’s fun, it just lacks the depth and quality of other attractions at the park unfortunately

A retheme is needed desperately, maybe it could be themed to a phalanx escape plane or something, like your soaring through the air trying to escape the wrath of nemesis, there could be moving parts that look like they’re gonna grab you, realistically, it justs needs to be themed to nemesis, I think blade needs to be rethemed too

That sounds like a good idea, I think towers just have to consider if they are willing to keep the ride going for long enough to make it worth it…

My main issue is they are running it way below capacity of what it can be run at. I just been and they were running just one car resulting in the longest queue in the park consistently. The fact they got the ability to run more cars and got a dual loading station they don't use annoys me to no end. Also the rebrand to Galactica removed the gentle music which is sin in my books as queuing is now long and very dull.

Good video. I also preferred the VR! I think it's unfair to compare Air against younger flying coasters though - it was the first design (Superman Ultimate Flight opened literally weeks beforehand but John Wardley was working with B&M to develop the concept since Nemesis debuted in 1994), and it can't get the height that Tatsu/Crystal gets. I also don't think space is an issue - Alton have outline permission to build on the car park next to Galactica as well as a few other spots. Plenty of space.

As someone who got to phantasialand last year, i am going to be honest, the themeing carries f.l.y and the ride is fairly uncomfortable from my opinion. The vest restraints dont normally bother me but my rides on f.l.y were not as comfortable as expected. It was still amazing but i doubt merlin could give it the themeing it needs to carry it. I almost prefer air to fly (my controversial opinion)

It was like a top 100 of roller coasters and I used a short clip from Pleasure Beach Experience and he removed it and gave me a strike after 9 MONTHS of it being public! If galactica doesnt get rethemed this closed season i think it will go. (Spoilers from the nemesis reborn VIP here) Nemesis was almost extremely close to being removed entirely but it had a new b&m invert layout made for that pit. Galactica 1000% will not be retracked if they didnt even plan for a nemesis retrack to begin with. However i can see it still being replaced with a flying coaster from either b&m or vekoma, nemesis would of been replaced with something similar and i think the same could be for galactica

​@@trainlover16it most likely will, galactica is nowhere near as well liked as nemesis, if nemesis was that close to being removed and replaced then galactica probably will be, might get replaced with another flying coaster however, they can get much better than galactica

@@Yonel6969 More people like Galactica than you think. Unless it were replaced by a Vekoma flying coaster or something, Alton Towers would no longer feel like Alton Towers without Galactica. Also, I think Alton were always intending to keep Nemesis around for as long as possible, even if that meant overhauling and re-tracking the entire coaster. They know full well how beloved of a coaster it is, even more beloved than Corkscrew. I’m going to advocate for the same to happen to Galactica as the coaster ages.

@@trainlover16 Alton Towers said themselves nemesis was very close to leaving for good, they had an entirely new invert in place, they only kept it because they knew how well loved it is. Galactica is liked sure, but nowhere near nemesis, nemesis is world famous, galactica isnt. Galactica is also a maintenance nightmare, suffers alot of downtime and rarely runs on full capacity. No way galactica will ever get the nemesis treatment. They cannot get a replacement better than nemmy, they can get a load of things miles better than galactica.

Don’t get me wrong, I am very aware of how expensive roller coasters are. It’s why I don’t push retracking like it’s the best thing since sliced bread. I understand that rides can cost anywhere between 8-25 million pounds to build, but I am also aware that these mega corporations like Merlin, cedar fair and six flags have that kind of money to spend. So obviously I wouldn’t be able to buy and build a roller coaster, but these companies definitely can.
