How is it controversial for a modern artist to not produce his own work? That's pretty much par for the course in modern art starting with Warhol and persisting through artists such as Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Anish Kapoor. Even artists I personally respect such as Anselm Kiefer work on such a massive scale and with such difficult materials that they really have no choice but to hire tradesmen to realize their vision.

A few days ago I watched a documentary about one of Leonardo Da vinci paintings, Leonardo like many modern artists nowadays had many workers, painting and sculpting with him. Although these historians were trying to authenticate this painting thinking at first this work was made by the artist workers and not actually by Da Vinci. It took many years until they finnaly found evidences of being made by the hands of the artist. If not the painting wouldnt have the same value. The same happens with these modern artists they dont paint, they ask for non artist people to create their so called masterpieces. Okay he has the ideas! But where is the spirit and signature of the brushstrokes of the artist? I dont totally disagree with this method of creating art but in my artistic value I still think the artist should marks his brushstrokes with his own hand. Otherwise where is the excitement of painting. Or you are going to ask me to fuck your wife instead of you? Do you know what I mean!?
