part of what makes it amazing is that it fails structurally in a lot of localized smaller regions instead of one great big catastrophic failure. Would be cool to have a door of a car made with this design of their shells to absorb huge impacts in car crashes. It also makes me think that for things like car doors, they will still operate after the collision. If you look at how the shell fails at 150NM some parts retain their strength.
