Another interesting project for an underbarrel rocket launcher was the Scorpion Urban Fighting Weapon, which was essentially a scaled down M72 LAW designed to be attached under the barrel of an M16. That one did have backblast, or more accurately "sideblast". The exhaust was vented it to the sides instead of behind, so it would not so easily harm the user.

I expected this to end with a list of mechanical failures that caused the weapon to not be adopted. Weird how it performed fairly well but wasn't picked up in the end. The purpose seems a little niche, but an underbarrel anti-armor weapon with more power than an M203 sounds really useful.
