I actually thought it was taking too much from UT and started really enjoying the game once Starlo showed up since that area finally felt like its own “thing”. Yeah, I don't get the hate when someone tries to tell an original story. I get not like some characters, there are criticisms of this, however not all UT fangames necessarily need to be fan bait. This game would have stuck very well on it's own and that's what I love about it. It doesn't rely on BEING an undertale fan to enjoy it, even if it is meant to be a fan game.

@@xxb0ba_teaxx518 I think I disagree, a spinoff/prequel doesn't need to have all the original cast of characters to be related to the original game. It would've been nice if some more characters were brought up in conversation or made some appearance other than Toriel for a minute, Asgore in a single fight, Alphys in one short cutscene, and Metaton in a passing conversation but that doesn't make the game not like undertale. And what is undertale-like. An rpg with a unique battle mechanic, story and character based, nice music, likable characters, 8 bit music reminiscent of old games. Both this and the original has all of that. I'm sure you can add more to that list but having same cast is not necessarily a requirement. Not in my book anyways, it might be in yours which is fine. To each their own.

Yes, it's an amazing game. But it doesn't resemble Undertale much. This part of the underground was never shown or mentioned in Undertale. If they wanted it to be more Undertale, they should have had Clover move throughout the underground as normal, just like how the original game would have been.

One of the things I discovered accidentally: attacking Martlet on third turn specifically skips a majority of her fight (I rushed her turns 1 and 2, attacked on turn 3, and ignored her afterwards for context, didn't check if it's just not attacking but I did skip a majority of the fight)

To be fair by that point Asgore had six that Flowey could steal and then absorb all the monsters to equal a seventh. He couldn't have done that in Yellow unless he killed Clover anyways and managed to get Asgore to reveal the others

Not every story ends happily, mostly not for everyone... Sacrifices had to be made for a good ending eventually, the only question is if the end was worth all the sacrifices, if it impacted everyone happily and helped everyone, it could have not been the generation when all the sacrifices were made, but if it helped the future generations... Depends on how much it helped. Do the grandchildren live in peace? We all know the answer in Undertale. While Undertale Yellow was a fangame, it definitely was taking facts and made it a very canon story - Undertale had the intention for everyone to make theories on how the children lived and they could use facts, but then, Toby intentionally made it unclear. Such an amazing fangame, exactly what Toby Fox wanted to have as a community.

Flowey is more friendly here because he has much more power than in Undertale and can afford to be friendly, so Clover eventually gets his soul captured and Flowey can eventually steal the 6 souls when Frisk comes. He can't afford to be friendly with Frisk because Frisk has more determination than Flowey, making Flowey nearly powerless.

For those who want to know why the coffee didn't work. 1.-get honewdew coffee 2.-give it to the lady at the east of the honewdew resort, the one that says that she wants some hot coffee, she will give you some mittens she found. 3.-give the mittens to that little girl who lost one, she will give you a drawn map she made. 4.-give the map to te lost travelers and they give you matches. 5.-give the matches to the same lady that gave you the mittens and there! Now you have a lukewarm coffee 6.-use the lukewarm coffee on the rabbit and he gets free and in exchange, he gives you a great armor that guves 6DF heals 2HP every turn in battle.

to be fair, each one will be shorter than others. as an example, orange / bravery died in snowdin, bluish / patience in ruins, blue / integrity and purple / perseverance in waterfall, so the other versions will get shorter as we approach the less... capable humans

While Blue is definitely implied to have died in Waterfall, one can easily come up with other excuses to get the kids' stuff in their final resting places without sacrificing a satisfying story. For example, Cyan could wind up dying trying to get _back_ to Toriel through some other entrance. Or perhaps just dropped their stuff. The Tough Glove is in the dimensional box and the bandana is in a shop. Many ways to make that work. But the real challenge is a team having the dedication to make said fangames and stick with them for the multiple years it would take
