Yes! Many think that becoming a Christian makes you have to give up everything you love. But, the truth is, you start to love different things. The Bible says the Lord will give you the desires of your heart and many take that to mean prosperity, but what it actually means is that our heart starts to desire His will! It’s about what we desire, not getting accumulation of the worldly things the world desires.

Yo, the Christian music thing is REAL. Whenever I'd get stressed/sad/angry at work, I'd put on Christian music and it felt like the literal weight of whatever bad thing I was feeling was lifted off of me. I would love to see Christian music recommendations from you! And the tithing...man oh man, that heart and mentality shift was LIFE CHANGING. There was a peace that came with tithing and honoring that, even when I was struggling financially vs. having money for myself but still being stressed about how things would work out financially for me. I'm in Korea right now and I am really feeling the loss of community - whether it's just friends or having a church. God bless you - I'm so inspired by your videos and content.

I say, “shut the front door” or “barnacles” lol I love your transition to having a relationship with God. I feel that I’m in the same journey now. My music has changed, I tithe as well because I want to, my flesh no longer desires to go dance and get drunk. One of the main things I couldn’t let go is sleeping around with multiple men. Listening to the Weekend, Rihanna, and Cardi made me feel like a bad b lol I did not want to let that go. It influenced my life and lead me to feel empowered by sleeping around with the “hottest” guys I would meet. I never thought I would one day let all that go when I came to a relationship with Jesus. The honor and glory goes to Him.❤️ God bless you abundantly, Melody.🙏🏽

I Liked your openness! When the holy spirit helped me realize it was a sin to fornicate, I stopped at intervals of weeks, months and years and feel it felt so good and pure; but i did fall back in between but finally i can say now that am free at last, all glory to God. When i look back i realize how messing with sin messes up one's emotions and mindset. Its not worth it, best to reserve your body for that divine husband who will cherish you because he has respect for God.

I've become completely dependent on Jesus. I need to spend my time with him. It's when i'm most at peace. It's where we communicate. It's where my spirit is strengthened. My daily faith has completely transformed my out look on God. I also feel the transition with music, I've started listening to only gospel on Sundays and i'd like to add more days to it. There's this conviction that I get when I'm listening to worship. When I listen to certain types of music it just doesn't feel right. This walk with God is truly a journey. It's difficult at times. But the peace that I have is amazing. I would love for you to do a gospel playlist that would be amazing. P.S Thank you for motivating me to do the Daniel fast. I'm starting on September 7th!

I was also a HUGE hip hop fan and can barely listen now. Its been hard for me to hang out with childhood friends because they are still worldly and thats all they want to talk about so Im praying about that. I’ve just started my relationship with God and I’d definitely say my taste in entertainment like music, books, series, and movies, and I learn something everyday that I didn’t know about myself good and bad just small things , like I complain a lot , a bit judgmental 🥺🥺, and I feel like the most important is realizing how the world is so against the word. Like how people say be selfish with yourself, you don’t need friends, or do what makes you happy, yet the Bible says the opposite. Lastly how something’s that I thought were normal and I didn’t understand why it was such a big deal , I’ve come to the realization that When God says don’t do this , it’s not because he is a buzz kill, he knows what it leads to and the negative things that associated with it that will eventually harm you emotionally, spiritually, mentally, even physically , he loves us so much that he doesn’t want any harm on us.

Now I just turn everything off and study the Word, pray and worship and if I watch tv it's when I'm falling asleep. I am still a work in process for things I may not even know I need work on yet but God’s sufficient grace gives us the time we need in becoming better everyday and it’s amazing to see his work in us when the transformations happen, especially when others see it too and he gets all the glory! 🙌🏽 I’m so grateful!❤️🙏🏽

Tithing and seed sowing has kept my family out of poverty. I didn't plan on being a single parent via divorce. However, staying in my place with my Savior because of my foundation with Christ has made a way for us I can't describe! Every single promise Holy Spirit has fulfilled!! When my divorce took place, every single bill was behind including the mortgage. Congratulations on your marriage! God Bless You!!

I feel a lot of these similarities too - especially with music! For a really long time I was obsessed with rock/metal, and I'm sure now it was the reason I kept back-sliding and was generally unhappy. Christian rock bands, especially Flyleaf and The Letter Black, changed my life, and I can feel the faith, love, and hope that comes from these songs. I've also started to swear less and less, and I also am no longer quick to anger. Now I get super excited when I think about the prospect of sharing my relationship with the Lord with others, and I WANT to tell people how God's love can truly change hearts and make a difference in our lives. And I was actually able to let go of some material things and forgive my own dad for the bad stuff he did in my childhood when I pray - the Lord has some great things in store, and I humbly await these wonderful opportunities.

Since coming into relationship with God, He has changed me in the following ways and I am so grateful to Him. My identity, taste in music, how I treat others, I am more generous, more patient, I view relationships, sex, career aspirations, and success differently, who and what I allow to influence me, insecurities, swearing, and how I see the society we live in and how we live - this was probably one of the bigger ones, I didn't realize how easy it was to just live according to the worldly standards and accept everything as normal or expected when in truth it is SO far from God and His principles. It is VERY accurate that, the closer you get to God, and the deeper your roots are in Christ, the more changes you will see in yourself. One of the greatest and most evident changes for me, is film and television. Growing up I used to watch all kinds of films and TV shows and I never really filtered anything out. I just watched because I enjoyed it and felt like it! But now, I don't even really watch TV anymore because of the personal conviction I have. Secondly, would be the fruit of the Spirit. I used to lie a lot, be very prideful, I HATED apologising or receiving correction but all these things have totally changed because of Jesus. I can't even bring myself to lie anymore. I hate it. And finally, the way in which I love God's people. I used to love people the way I wanted to be loved, but being with God has taught me to love His people the way HE loves them. And honestly the impact is amazing! This journey is not easy by ANY means, but the Holy Spirit is our Counselor and our Guide, always willing to help us. To anyone getting started on this, TRUST God and what He leads you to do. It may be painful to do now, but I promise the transformation is worth it. God bless!💛

Well, I am transforming. I have more of a hunger to read the bible. I search for words of life to feed my spirit. I find myself defending the word of God and growing to be content with my "human side". I'm working towards wholeness and confidence but each day I ask for God's strength to get me through the day. Ooo and I pray in the morning and set my daily intentions and God always meets me. And I'm learning to take responsibility for my actions opposed to blaming God when things do not go the way I wanted them to go

So God really transforms us by the renewing of our minds and by the power of the Holy Spirit. We do not become perfect but we are in a process of being transformed into new creations. In Christ ; we are never the same. For me there are many ways I am being changed. I stopped listening and watching secular content as much as I can (I thought Hip hop was everything too lol).I do not curse anymore either , like I cant - which is different from when I was younger and I would try not to , by 'willpower' (yeah & failed every time😂).I am not a hater and a critic anymore (Hallelujah😭🙌).I do not have a dirty mind.I also stopped being bitter - like I was a reallyyy bitter before. Tithing and serving are also major blessings to me.I also stopped being disrespectful to my parents and others. I was really a mess😂😂😂 (and God is still workin') but I thank God for changing my heart into a heart more like His.To God be the glory❤.

I use to be more provocative I prefer to covered. I noticed a lot & now I’m just trying to Restrengthen my relationship. I desire a peaceful loving life. I understand that God Grace is the only thing that keeps me sane that God’s love keeps me going. I want to stay with God. I want a life with Christ his love is so fulfilling & peaceful.

Music really does have an affect, i just recently turned my life to Christ and i was kinda starting to fall again, then that song by Johnathan McReynolds "He Knows' just kept playing in my head. So i prayed for that current situation and boom i winded into your page

Wonderful post. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm working on the cursing by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I can relate when I started my walk with Christ there are songs and artists I just can’t play! It does no longer speak to my spirit, if anything it makes you want to make your flesh feel good more than anything! Please share some of the musics 🎶 you listen to 😃
