No no no no no, the counter to this strategy is playing 1v9 split pushers who _literally cannot be given a free lane or else they will carry the game._ I would _LOVE_ to see someone try this against a team with a Nasus that has 1k stacks at 20 minutes and 4 levels on everyone in the game. @@kooldudematt1 Good in low elo where you get ashe players auto-ing in melee range, but high elo nasus is a shit tier late game champ. Outkited by every adc and their grandmother. Against 2 supports and a fed adc with lord doms + kraken slayer, you melt in 2 seconds. you could have 1 billion stacks, but it doesn't matter cuz true damage + range beats everything. Plus its actually very anti-split pusher since all that time farming and taking towers put a big bounty on your head. You die a couple times to their adc and give 600g shut downs and its game over.

I miss the mechanic of ZZ portal. If it wasn't a pure tank item I think it would have been a more viable item rather then just a gimick. Riot should bring back zz rot and give the stats adaptive power, then it can give either ap or ad depending on what champ you are playing, making it viable for anyone. And then some hp. Make it half tank half dmg item like alot of hp and a bit of adaptive power. I could see it used by top laners, support or even jungle maybe. And instead of the movements speed passive when nearby towers they could give a new passive. Like permanent extra MS and extra armor and MR when near towers, fallen towers , near the zz portal or allies. Could call the unique passive "protect the hive" or something like that cuz the portal reminds me of a ant-hill.

@@nikolajkvistpedersen5151 Enchanters. Stuns, slows, lockouts, and just general CC at range. They can 1v3 mid with the jungle, 2v4 bot, and keep whoever they are ganking held long enough to kill. Even if the enemy jungle shows up on either lane they have more CC to peel and control the fight. They run-up the scoreboard then exploit the shutdown gold mechanic. Viegar's been top lane all by his own and his gold advantage over his teammates is going to make him worth loads of cash. If he took a tower top, even better. They can pinata him one to three times for gold payouts on a 1v2 or a 1v3 if mid comes. The entire thing works by getting the most gold for the least risk. Top by himself isn't going to swing a team fight after they've had mid and bot on a numbers advantage gank farm. Even if they can't get kills they can keep mid and bottom CSing under their own tower without worring about counter ganks. Their adc and mid will have a farm advantage. The enemy junger is locked out of his roll since they've always got a jungler and an extra enchanter. They give up top to win everywhere else, then go gang up on top to get his shutdown gold from the CS lead he has over the rest of his team. Have to counter it or it'll snowball out of control. Top truly is worthless in the current meta. Worse than worthless. Anyone staying there is free gold to the fed team that won the rest of the map, doesn't matter what champion it is top, they can't alone overcome the deficit.

Nasus is actually one of the worst picks for this strategy. Tyler1 played against a nasus on the enemy team doing this and he was so bad at taking towers and shoving waves, tyler1 said he couldn't think of a worse champion to pick versus it. The reason is because smite top accelerates the game so you cant just sit back and scale while your team is getting fucked over and over

From an armchair perspective, I think the problem is that top lane has no natural role anymore. When the game had a laning phase, the purpose of each laner was to farm, or in the support's case, to soak EXP and babysit the ADC, with mid being good for roaming champs, top being isolated enough to farm in relative peace and not need to gank or teamfight during the laning phase, and bot being near the early-game objective of Dragon. But now, junglers are getting gold faster and more reliably than top laners (since top lane is PvP) while being the best at ganking since you almost never get vision of him. Meanwhile, faster games and plate gold mean that getting behind as top is a massive loss but since early objectives and teamfights are now way more impactful than being able to soak up EXP and gold from laning, yet at the same time you can't leave top lane because it's just so easy to fall behind there. The only winning move is not to play.

There's also the other aspect; LoL was first designed with RPG mechanics at it's core (literal roles like in a team, not pretending to be a character), as such the idea was tanks take top lane because their lack of damage items means they are least likely to take turrets and have the hardest time farming, while being the hardest to kill, so it makes no sense for them to be centre. Mid is a utility damage - assassin or mage - used either to pick off the enemy carries or punish the enemy team for grouping, Jungle is a second utility damage to compliment the team, then you have ADC and sup which go botlane because bot tower starts off easier to kill and ADC needs money, while support kits tend to give value even if you're down on money and levels so gold/xp sharing doesn't matter. Each class was dependent on eachother to do their job, since a tank without damages does nothing, an assassin/mage/ADC without a frontline gets twatted and supports without damage just stand there looking pretty. However, Riot decided to throw all that out of the window and favour the idea of 1v5 champions which do everything - such as Sylas, Yone, Irelia and Viego which have mobility, range, burst damage, sustain damage, CC, healing and enough survivability stats that they're not easily one-shot even if they go full-damage; they aren't team-dependent to do their job. Not to mention tanks that deal damage, Juggernauts that have mobility, ADCs that can survive in the middle of a teamfight, assassins that have powerful AoEs for teamfight potential and supports that deal damage etc. This suddenly meant that rather than complimenting each other, the lanes now compete with one another in doing essentially the same thing, so whatever is META in one lane becomes META everywhere.

The current counter to this meta is to go Sion, Yorick, Fiora, Tryn, or whatever hard push champions there is, run demolish, rush Hullbreaker, and hard push top lane into inhib tower/inhibitor. Since your laner will not be in lane in the early game since they are just roaming, you get an easy push into inhib tower with Hullbreaker + demolish. Even if your laner and their jg come to gank you, hullbreaker's overtune stat can usually make the 2v1. If the mid-lane decides to join the scuffle to deal with you, that will take pressure on your teammate as the enemy team is sending 3 people to deal with 1 guy.

So they need more health to ensure they don't lose too much hp when fighting a ranged champion or a mage. And no, Sterak is shit now, and the items are more likely to get built on champions that aren't bruisers, but AD assassins (like Yi or Viego). Legit, as someone who played Riven many times mega fed, the role is so far away from everything else, that many games you either give up your lane lead and go help your team that might be losing somewhere else only to have some tank mega scale into late game and become a problem again. Or you stay in the lane and push deep and they just rotate 3 top over and over until they are late game again. The lane is so far from everything important, and spends most of its time going to get cs, then backing to buy, then going back to lane lol. Maybe add some way to teleport to the lane faster so that it can be impactful elsewhere? it doesnt surprise me that enchantress roaming and helping mid / bot / jgl is better than being an actual top lol

The problem here is these are exactly what these players should be permabanning if they had more than 2 braincells, so this is mostly useless in higher elo because they'll never be available. But, it is Freelo lower in the ladder due to how low the average neuron count is among low elo players.

I'm a top lane main and I can feel the pain. No matter how much I win my lane, my impact in the game is very minimal. In fact, I tried being an ADC recently in 20 games and I felt I have more impact and winning more games.

Finally. Just pick any tower destroying monster like Yorick, Jax, or Sion and build hullbreaker first. It's cheap and so effective. Good luck winning the late game with fed adc/mid when Yorick is destroying your nexus towers at 14 minutes. I need to go back to toplane for this meta.

For Nasus, you just need to get CDR without carring about anything else. The issue is : what do you do, when your team don't understand they need to play safe enough, the roaming support is waisting his time. Play a jungler that farm fast and well, and can escape if invaded, then play safely in lane. What make Nasus "bad" is how slow he take tower early game when plate are still there. But perfect Q stack toplane ? Just buy CDR instead of buying powerspike. R can destroy tower with Q CD being halved. Just ult every time on tower and you are good to go. You can even ult, just for farming Q faster.

lol, wrong. part of the strategy is that the team that abuses this strategy gets enough bounty gold on multiple team members to outwieght the gold advantage the free farming top laner got. There is literally no counterplay to this strat. the only reason why people drop eventually games with this strat is missexecution and the only way to stop (not counter) this strat is to also abuse a not farming support top.

Don’t you know? There are currently another meta on top response to roaming sp top that’s building hullbreaker and just push as hard as you can since enemies need 3 person to stop you. They play trundle, yorick, gnar, graves, poppy, Shyvana, sion hullbreaker and they not even need to dealing with enchanter top to build hullbreaker, this’s like the new core item to destroy enemies top.

The counter strategy feels pretty straightforward: relax and farm, don't give away too many kills early in mid or bot, and wait out the roaming support's lack of farm. Or, the top laner could move mid with a support item and counter the roams that way. I went up against this with a twitch top and a jax ADC. It was the most winnable if not for the bot lane overextending so much. I was the top laner, so I spent most of my time spam pinging them when it was a clear gank, but they just refused to listen. Also, the jungler refused to accept that some of his camps were gonna get taken and inted for them. Revert teleport, Riot

That is the solution. Make all tops( Juggernauts,duelists, Top mages etc) super strong so when you leave them alone they murder all of you and solo carry the game. Problem solved. You can counter this by picking a normal champ of your own and keeping up in levels and farm with the enemy. Several metas have been supports stomping top laners because Riot refuses to buff Juggernauts, tanks and duelists properly and always make the excuse:"But Irelia, Riven and Camille are broken so all bruisers are broken"

I think a good Counter is having immense waveclear and tower pressure Like gp (solarbacca made a few counter vids) Or urgott (when he is lvl 9 tower just die) Or well any wave instaclear champions. When you spamping the missing and thw gank might not work, the toplaner gets nothing while you get 1-2 tower

all those strategies are big risks and just grow your personal bounty fast af and objective bounties for roamintop team comes even faster so unless you can push nexus down before 15min i dont think those actually work if enemy team knows how to properly play this strat

This really does work cause top laners usually are only effective when your team strokes out and goes 0-6 before the 15 minute mark. Take that away and they are just have good cs and only are relevant if you don't get your team fed.

top lane is usually useless. unless the player can get themselves a pretty big snowball going on their own they are going to die to the enemy bot that somehow got turbofed despite your jungle living down there. As this meta is showing no top laner is more effective than having a top laner.

@@villekuronen6242 guess you're not playing low silver / high bronze elo then... i almost never play ranked, i finished my placements in preseason and was silver IV, when i play any other lane other than bot i judge my games based on how much i can shit on enemy ADC, unless its fed (but sometimes even when it is) its still 2 or more lvls below me and that lvl diff allows me to spread their cheeks wide open

i had a janna top in my game, Luckily i locked in nasus that time for toplane. i was free farming the whole game, I got so much farm that i was 1 shotting their fed carries. The whole enemy team reported the janna. Not her fault lol. She fp janna and i locked in nasus.
