@@lessence2226 De is EXTREMELY private that's why you don't see a lot of stories about him. He loves his privacy he and Magoo were a lot alike (not into the fame). Sounds weird but I honestly wouldn't want a story. Reason being is there's not a lot of info about him and I would hate to see someone just make up lies. I know Jeury wouldn't do that and do his research for sure ❤ I have love and respect for the family and wouldn't wanna see that happen to anyone honestly.

Melvin is my uncle. You did your research. I wish my uncle felt more appreciated when he was alive. He hated the entertainment life. One thing about my uncle, he always been a private person, all anyone could do was ASSUME. Aaliyah death really did shattered him. I remember like it was yesterday, as a kid when this happened to Aaliyah and I called him smh I feel the pain all over again just writing this. Ppl loved him, I wish he would’ve got the respect and love shown to him in his life form. Smh RIP Uncle Melvin. Thank you, for covering this.

While these internet trolls claim that he was so wack because he wouldn't participate in the industry's dysfunctional mess, lets you know you he did the right thing. Yes leaving social media and staying true to yourself. Entertainers don't have to prove anything to the public. Just enjoy their art and stop worrying about their personal lives. Magoo was a private person. There is nothing wrong with that! A lot of society are weirdo's! #ripmagoo 1972-2023

I hope he knew before his death that he had those of us who appreciated his music. My favorite Magoo track is 'Up jump the boogie.' It was his bars that I looked forward to. He was smooth with it and didn't have to come with political hooray. It was go with it energy. It made you feel good. So, his mission was accomplished. The mere fact that he had the same range as Q but found a way to stand out on his own is clever and shows he had skill & talent. Boo to all of those that faulted him for that. smh! I had always wondered what happened to him and was very saddened hearing about his death on SM. Another one, gone too soon. But thank goodness he didn't die broke and unloved. Thanks for dropping this tribute. He deserved it and all the loving words from his listeners. RIP Melvin 'Magoo' Barcliff. (*Aaliah and Static Major*) You all are so missed.
