You said “People who love him, mainly Golden State fans”. As a huge Warriors fan. It’s so weird watching highlights of him as a Warrior. Because even though I watched every game and loved watching him play, it never felt like he was our player. More like watching Lebron and Steph together at the All star game. Watching greatness, but felt no ownership over it. And now that he’s gone, I don’t have the same feelings I do about someone like Iguodala. Who I will love for life. Like, everyone knows this about GS fans, we will love Curry no matter what. He’s our home grown guy and has done more for this team than anyone ever before him. As for KD, I mainly feel disdain honestly, that he affected Stephs legacy. 3 years of prime Steph in which he could cement himself as the greatest PG of all time. And it’s a testament to Stephs character that he sacrificed that and welcomed KD in and never complained. If Durant won back to back MVPs and went to 2 straight finals and won 73 games, you think he’d allow Lebron on his team? Hell no. And the fact he won’t stop whining about his time in GS since he bounced is really annoying. The team was completely legit before KD. Battle tested and champions. And now that KD left and all these injuries piled up. it’ll never be like it was.

The thing for me about KD, is I feel like it's more of a disappointment than anything. Like the man is transcendent, but he keeps making moves that 100% under shadow his own skills. His stats and accomplishments say he doesn't need help, but his actions scream, "HEY, I NEED LIKE ALL THE FUCKING HELP!". It's like, am I supposed to believe his words that he's telling me, or believe his actions? Like the Golden State thing is kinda understandable, but then you set up an even more stacked team somewhere else and expect me not to think you need a stacked team to win. Like come on now, just own it. Want's to be seen as humble and down to earth, while he slinking in the shadows like all the others making back room deals.

I used to hate the KD move but now his hate makes no sense, I mean when AD left the NOP to play with the 2nd greatest player of all time I don't really remember any snake talk. Not to diss AD but he just didn't receive nearly as much hate as KD. But KD leaves to go arguably carry a team to a certain extent and he gets hate. It's not about loyalty or being a snake it's just cause he's Kevin Durant.

Those Thunder teams with KD, Russ, Ibaka and the crew were great teams but they were never good 3pt shooting teams. I blame it on OKC's management for not surrounding Russ & KD with shooters. If I was OKC's GM at the time I'd trade for a guy like Kyle Korver, no matter the cost. They already had a defensive ace in Andre Roberson, so it made sense to add a shooting specialist like Korver. I think a simple move like that could've taken them over the hump.

I'm a firm believer that KD should have stayed in Golden State. I remember distinctly there was a disconnect in 2018-2019 where we all felt that KD was an inorganic component. It was almost like, as effective as they all were on the court, the NBA world around them rejected KD's real role within that team. In hindsight, it's easy to appreciate the greatness we were seeing. When I think about it, Kevin Durant would have probably come back from that achilles injury with a lot of support from the fans, renewed support for the warriors as a team, and the connection that tragedy and hardship brings. Durant tore his Achilles and finally felt like a part of the team. That's to say nothing of the light show KD and Steph would be putting on this year (assuming Klay was still hurt) alongside James Wiseman. He's one of the greatest players of all time, and when need to recognize that now. Celtics in 4.

Name one other team in NBA history who was packed like this team with players just out of their prime or in their prime. Compared to the rest of the NBA and the history of teams in the NBA this team is just a farce. It's almost hilarious how they're f'ing up competition. It's the 73-9 Warriors with KD all over again. Dude wants to win championships, just doesn't want the responsibility of being THE man on the team and carrying a team with his greatness. Understand that I'm saying KD is great af, most effortless scorer ever, but the dude is soft, soft soft. Can't handle criticism, criticizes the media for giving him a hard time (yeah because no other player has gotten scrutiny Kevin..) and flips out on different social media accounts to save his butthurt ass. It's just pathetic to see after a while man. When he was with OKC I was rooting for the guy, but after the GS move I lost all my respect for him.
