Gender is the most fundamental distinction among human beings, and constitutes the first questions people ask whenever a child is born. It creates two radically contrasting likelihoods and determines how people view themselves and others. Joe is born with masculine and feminine genes that plunge him into a rather ambiguous appearance. He/She is a dominant female but is forced by the father, Francis to live as a man. The society sees his/her situation as a deviation from gender binaries and subject her to the injustice of stigma and discrimination.
A precursor of this prerogative is delved into by Joe, the top student and head boy while explaining to fellow students why he is a girl in a boy’s school. It essentially measures the extent to which human rights, social justice and transparency, and accountability can be realized through unlocking opportunities for socioeconomic transformation through drama and film.
