You should read any book written by Brennan Manning, and that will help explain why reckless is such a good description. I recommend The Ragamuffin Gospel.

One of the meanings of reckless is audacious. Other is light-hearted. I believe that in some ways we can interpret the song in the beteween lines, note literally.
