Very much appreciated! If you don't know already I'm planning on revisiting this video later this month, so I hope you'll check that out.

The half-hour of gameplay was likely not necessary, but that said, it is no coincidence I went looking for small channels on the day this came out. You have some serious potential.

Yeah you're right I think I committed to the gameplay commentary a bit too hard, especially since I wanted to make this video short. What's done is done though and it's good to hear that I got what it takes. I got an new video format that should be a lot more shorter. Hopefully that would add more content to this channel.

huhu i badly wanna see them make another game like this. I dont really care if kyle hyde will be the protagonist or can be another character, the style of the game is just so good and makes you easily invested

I agree, I would like to see someone try to create something similar like Hotel Dusk or Last Window. I think what makes this series a one of a kind is the writing and rotoscoping. Writing is one thing but the rotoscoping is a time consuming task and most likely why no one has made a game in that style. The DS was probably the best platform for this kind of style, if someone were to make a game in this style for current-gen or PC they got to worry about resolution for example adding more time to the process.

I know this video is a year old and I don't know if you ever wanna come back to this, but here's my two cents anyway: First off, your editing is great! Besides a few gaps, you did a good job visually conveying what you were talking about and that made it all the more fun to watch. Surprisingly not a given with many other KZbinrs. Would love to see more of that! The long gameplay section was good too, it was the video equivalent of skimming through a book: Getting the general gist of the story while sometimes stopping for highlights. Nice job! The title of the video set me up for something different though and while I really did enjoy the video (and appreciate anyone respectfully talking about Hotel Dusk), I was hoping for an analysis of _why_ Hotel Dusk is so charming. In basic terms, I was kinda expecting "Here, the game does X, which is great, because it works well with Y and has the player feeling like this/that." Maybe that's not what you set out to do and frankly, it's pretty tough as well but I think you could get it done, and it would be super interesting as well! Like I said, I don't know if you'll come back to this, especially when you put so much work into something that ultimately falls before KZbin's algorithm, which always sucks. But either way, I appreciate your effort! Hope you get your videos out there more!

First and foremost thank you for your kind words, I don't know how but I'm surprised that people somehow encounter this video to this day. Fortunately, I do plan on making a revised version of this video because I want to talk about Last Window. This time I want to talk about the whole thing from start to finish, but that was the initial plan for this video anyways. The reason why I only covered the first chapter was cause I took too long editing the video. Back then I was broadening my editing skills. The only experience I had was editing gameplay videos on my other channel. I think I was a bit ambitious creating this video and my first video (Lifeline (PS2) - A Diamond in the Rough), it took about a year and 9 months combined which in my opinion isn't ideal to kickstart your channel. After releasing this video I decided to make shorter videos, starting off with the "Look Out For" series which was only 2 videos after this one. In 2022, I changed up my video editing software from Sony Vegas to Adobe Premiere and vowed to make a video every month when I did a shorter analysis video called "When Flash Games Had Achievements". This time I was experimenting on the type of video, I did one anime related video but later stuck to video games and created the "Everything You Need To Know Before You Buy" series which is a revamped version of the "Look Out For" series. Looking back this year I think I've done quite well, even though I'm not a popular KZbinr by any means. This month I have an idea on some Shorts, but that's experimental and I still want to create videos like this one in the future as I plan to move away from the "Everything You Need To Know Before You Buy" series. I think I can make a more structured and revised version of this video and 100% that video will come out in 2023. I'm still new to the whole analysis/video essay/retrospective type of video, so I'll happily take your criticism on board and I know this is a shameless plug, but if you want, you can subscribe so you'll be the first one to see a proper analysis of The Unique Charm of Hotel Dusk: Room 215.

Hotel Dusk is a criminally underrated game on the DS System.
