@@yashtyson88 best way for this to be is by making chess mandatory in govt schools. Mass demand. We start our kids from grassroot level,That everyone should know how to play chess. Why will govt do that!??? What good chess will bring in life of a kid.!? So As we all know those who plays chess do have good intellect and do use good brain and do have logical thinking and patience in their live(ya not all but it still can help people concentrate).might help quick development of brain functions in kids. Then those who want to make it a life goal they can pursue it in later life and we will be a chess nation with everyone knowing how to play it . Like Russia and even America even above them in a decade.

I use a magnetic set from Paramount Dealz. They make some good chess set. I am particularly interested in the rollable board. It’s a nice travelling set to be used for analysing positions.

Chess players are normally not interested in those ornamental chess sets. They are mostly display sets catering to non-players. The most beautiful and aesthetically pleasing Chess sets are indeed the Staunton sets and its various versions.

Instead of making all these fancy and funny products, paramount dealz should strive to emulate the success of house of staunton or DGT chess sets. They should look at GM level chess tournaments, or the one in which they have attended, and see the chess sets there and compare it with their own sets... do the sets have rounded edges? are there any carvings on pieces or they look alike? What is the size of the board? size of the pieces? do they make as per FIDE size? Do they put ABCD 1234 on those DGT boards? Are the boards seen there are folding ? are there any big stains like the one seen on their sets? What are the colors seen in a GM level chess tournament ? If they are able to fix all these things, they will surely have a good chess set which can compete with House of Staunton or DGT ! Right now, it surely doesnt look like they want to cater to a normal chess player market, their all chess sets looks like some house decoration items, rather than a serious chess board. Even the tournament editions are only disappointments.

And At the openning ceremony Tamilnadu government have represent each and every Art form of India from all the states to show the world what India is. This Tournament is supposed to inspire lot of youth to pursue chess. One side when the government is funding. It is an irony that these narrow minded merchants having tourist trapping stalls to steal huge sum of money in the name of Art and craft my ass. You need simple paper and pen to do math with your good brain. Not an expensive pen or a golden board. I was upset with that maharaja nonsense of representing particular region like worship figures where they don't have any participants to this tournament. You won't understand until you know what India is and its problems.

Yeah man, now even craftsmen also need money? Like they were not satisfied with ₹ 50 per 10 hours of work. I mean who pays for the human & hard work. We pay for brand. Just make the board using plastic and put a brand logo and then sell for 8000. It would be still a great deal at 7000.
