It's funny and cute how they react towards each other. I know some companies have set out rules like this and some are open. Even so, this is a training camp; I guess they don't want any distractions and they are competing against each other but I hope they can interact to not make it weirder for both the girls and guys and be friends, but hey, it is what it is. Rules are rules but I would love to see their friendship as well but right now maybe they find that it'll be hard on the others and not have fans be conflicted by other things. They make sense. It's because of scandals, or parents suing the companies, or tension, or lack of focus on the idols' part. It has happened before in certain companies, even one that shut down, and they can't afford to have that, especially because they're filming the whole process.

In almost every other entertainment industry in the world there is free interaction between men and women, kpop trainees and idols are human beings too ! The Unit is a very temporary thing for these idols. They must not see a point in allowing them to start anything among themselves. It's also because these are existing idols we're talking about. They have a reputation to keep, not a scandal to start. They have fans, no matter how many, and a relationship starting out of nowhere on a show can make those fans see them as easy or inconsiderate toward their goal. The companies know that falling in love and feelings is not really something that can be completely controlled by them, and that can create tension and lack of focus. If those idols want a relationship, they can start it elsewhere at their own responsibility, as harsh as that may sound. This is business. Contracts have been signed.

hey it's mel managing PR and limiting the access of fans into the *private* lives of celebrities is different from prohibiting young men and women from dating just to satisfy the delusional fantasies of young fans and promoting them as products rather than *human beings*. As long as people like you keep validating and justifying some of the inhuman practices of these companies, the more it'll encourage them to continue to treat these idols as things or robots. That is twisted smh.But fyi I do kind of agree to a certain extent that dating during trainee years might be a distraction for some of them but when they become legit idols they can date whoever they want too and if their fans love them and their music/performance they should be ok with it as long as they get to keep enjoying their music. Whoever wants to be an idol basically has no life. If you ever see any sort of interview of an idol/trainee talking about their childhood, they'll say that they gave it up to become an idol. Underage idols still have to go to school or older ones to college, but they're too busy thinking of their work schedule.
