The trumpet player and designated MC, whose name I don't know is a great, ridiculously talented trumpet player and a team player. My gut is telling me that after observing his reactions to the other airman's solos, not only here in this video, but also in other AON videos that I've watched over quite a long period of time, that his tapping his horn in affirmation is sincere and not gratuitous. God bless him!!!

The mix is saxophone heavy. On In the Mood is 80% saxophones, 10% trombones and 10% trumpets.

An example of how a great band can be undermined by an inferior mix. Don't judge them on this recording. They are absolutely one of the best big bands on earth. Seek out better recordings.

I love this group, but this is a really bad performance for them in my opinion (no, I can't do any better - or even close), but this was disappointing. I listen to their older stuff all the time, and I heard them live in about 2010 or 2011. This doesn't even compare in any way. It is sloppy as compared to their past performances. Kevin seems drunk, and Brian doesn't sound like the Brian I am use to. Even Page, who I love, wasn't on her best game on vocals.
