No corps has faced and overcome more difficulties in a single year than The Cadets. This show is only a prelude to their return to medals. Great combination of today's focus on body movement and all the run and gun motion that is unique to The Cadets. Killing the snake with Sensemayo clearly is a purging of everything that held them back in the last couple years, and they have come together like no one else. This is the corps of the future.

Cadets fan forever....... brass sounds great and percussion pulled off some intricate stuff as well. Cadets will be back soon enough. Let's not forget top 10 is still great placement no matter what. A corps like this we're all so used to placing top 4 usually

2019 will be an amazing year for the cadets. The start of what they call the new era, I see a lot of people say they are going downhill but if you know anything thing about the cadets is that they are use to a hard challenge to over come and usually in the end come out of it and prevail. The cadets are long from gone and experiencing the first camp this year they are bringing a lot to the table for the 85th year of the cadets

Did anyone else realize this was published on tritone day? Aug 4?
@Nathan-wm8yb6 жыл бұрын
How is Aug 4 tritone day? Cause if you're talking about how the ratio for a just tritone is ~7:5 then it would be July 5th...

If in their assessment, the Cadets don't have the maturity to win the DCI championship outright, they opt for a very outlandish and stylish show. That's what this is. I heartily approve of this show in style and content. They define their own style better than other corps (closer from 92). They don't have a super mature drum corps like some others this season, but this is right in line with their style.

Peter I think I know what you mean but not 100% sure when you say maturity------ sorry getting back into corps

Sam Rovito Miss the old uniforms too but these new ones are one the most old-school uniforms out of any other world class group this year, which is pretty sad tbh

I am glad the Cadets have a show and have made it through this season and this was an abrupt change to what was planned. That being said, nowhere is this show 2 to 2.5 points above 8th or 9th place. GE wise it is a snoozer.
@georgedixon98636 жыл бұрын
well those pesky judges disagreed and the audience gave it multiple standing Os - so I guess their all wrong lol
@1049berkeley6 жыл бұрын
Standing ovation that they ended up doing fairly well considering what happened with diddler George Hopkins. And yes, it was a snoozer.
@georgedixon98636 жыл бұрын
@@1049berkeley you are stating opinions as fact - it's your opinion and that's fine. Personally felt the show was better than Crown or Cavaliers and a few others. SCV/Coats were great. BD very solid. But there really isn't a point to be nasty. Should have finished ahead of Cavaliers - IMO. This was also an early season performance and the corps got dramatically better.
@1049berkeley6 жыл бұрын
You cannot accuse one of being nasty when you became nasty. It would not be the first or last time you became nasty from behind your maroon colored glasses....have seen it by you several times on DCP. And no, the Cadets placed rightfully where they should have placed.
@georgedixon98636 жыл бұрын
@@1049berkeley so they were placed rightfully or should have been points lower? you literally contradict your post above where you state it was scored much higher than in your view it should have bee

I used to be a big fan, but have become more and more disinterested as each season passes. As they drift further from their roots, so they drift further toward the bottom of the top 12.
@CSRookie6 жыл бұрын
Kev I haven't watched cops as much the last few years but what do you mean drift further from their roots? I mean other than the uniform change they seem to be doing drill and percussion that we're used to seeing/hearing from them no?
@mikeyngo74326 жыл бұрын
Hi Cory. I am talking about their musical book - from classic American composers paired with an amazingly designed drill. Their 1987 show is the perfect example. I think that whole show is available to watch here on KZbin. Check it out.
@georgedixon98636 жыл бұрын
@@mikeyngo7432 their "roots" isn't 1987 - and as much as I love that corps for it's time and place it wouldn't make semifinals today

No. The shows AREN'T entertaining anymore. The shows have lost general effect even among DCI fans -- people are just sitting there bored. After the first opening section in this performance, people mildly applauded. Why? Because it's boring. You are making this personal. The shows used to have something for everyone, but they're not musically written or designed like that anymore. They're designed for people who think harder and faster is better and for what the judges want. We saw this shit coming in the 90s. What the judges wanted was more important than what the fans wanted. Corps like Madison blew off the judges. But not anymore and the shows suffer for it. Top Secret Drumline from Switzerland has millions of hits on KZbin -- there's a reason why they do. Technically they would be murdered by today's drumlines. But they're far more popular in getting hits and views. Why? Because to the average person in the audience who isn't a DCI fan (let's face it, DCI mostly plays to itself) those people are entertained by Top Secret but the shows of DCI bore people. You are playing to an echo chamber and your corps sounds like shit with amplification and inferior sounding instruments. Fact. Get over it. This is why people are complaining. You can choose to make it personal, call us "old", yada yada, I don't give a fuck. The point is, you are alienating DCI fans and support and you just don't get it. Enjoy pleasing those judges.

You should watch music city show, I was never marched in a corp but I did do marching band in high school and their show was enjoyable.

This show was incredibly entertaining. Drum corps shows are more entertaining now than ever, but if you want to be bitter and angry because it’s not the same as when you marched, go ahead and be bitter and angry.
