This is one of the best threads I have seen on the deck so far, I love the duality and seeing who it lands with as I am creating a pathworking workshop around this deck which pulls in a lot of different elements. Creating a deck is a loooong process, we sometimes most certainly would re write elements here or there over such a big volume of work, but once it is in others hands it is a living transmission and that excites me more than anything. Anita xx

Thank you for the great walkthrough, I loved hearing all of your thoughts. The titles were artwork ones meant for the book only but the publisher thought they would be interesting on the cards so I guess they were never intended as straight keywords if that makes sense, but I loved how Stane and Sennachie pulled you in further and gave something different to standard RWS, which was what I intended for several of the cards. As mentioned the blue face is her painted mask :)) I do hope you come to appreciate the wanderings and meanderings enough to keep using the deck and I love what you added to the Kelpie Keeper for your own take on that card.

So lovely to see you here. Absolutely entranced by your art Anita and thank you So much for clarifying the mask. I’m going to make sure I read everything and come back after working with the deck. Yes I loved the sennachie card. I’m excited to work with her and discover more ❤️❤️❤️

@@anitainverarity9409 can I also say it’s refreshing to see a creator of a deck respond with such grace to a reviewer who isn’t jumping straight in with full praise but is questioning. I’m sure you’ve seen in this community that isn’t always the case. So thank you. And I wish you nothing but absolute success with your deck. ❤️❤️

Thanks for showing this to us. I love the artwork and palette, too. I'm not crazy about the preponderance of young girls (as you say with almost the same facial features). I agree about the name/keyword inconsistency. On the fence about this one as I don't like having to read a book to understand the cards...but that art is so great!❤

I wrote a very big book so the intent was for it to be used and enjoyed. I know many like to read intuitively and stick ridgidly to RWS visuals and ditch the book element. There are lots of decks that cover that. This really does need to be used in tandem.
@papermoontarot42197 ай бұрын
@@anitainverarity9409 good to know your intent. I don't have the deck so no access to the book but if you created this as a system that adds another dimension to tarot I'm not adverse to learning something new and I do love your art. Thanks for providing this context. 😘

@@papermoontarot4219 You are welcome. Most of the cards you would get if you use RWS but a handful meander, they read the same but the visual storytelling is a different slant/perspective or way in. The book is 430 odd pages so there is a lot of additional info.

I think the 'mask' is her blue face. My grandma used to say, "she was so down, she was blue in the face!" I love the oracle deck. The artwork is soothing and calming to me. Yet, each card is full of symbology. I put off buying the tarot until I saw a great walk through (this one!). I have more than enough decks I classify as 'no brainers' that are very easy to read. These days I look for decks that make me pause, look intently for clues to meanings, and make me excited to dig into the guidebook. Also, decks that sway off the RWS path a bit and put me on a new trail to explore. I will probably get this tarot, eventually, because as I looked at the cards I found myself asking questions about the crystals, the animals, the backgrounds. And for me, that's a sure sign the deck will make its way to me at the perfect time.....because I'm a curious cat by nature. Lol And I'll happily be googling the guide words I don't know which will take me down a rabbit hole of exploration. I have been trying to decide if I wanted the Universal Folk or the Mind's Eye tarot. They both appeal to me but I think I'm more drawn to the Universal artwork. Thank you, so much, for this walk-through, and for reading several of the meanings. Very helpful!❤

Can I confess I bought the minds eye tarot too! No decks for ages and then got both of them this month.

This is so interesting! I have & adore the oracle, and assumed I’d jump at the tarot when she said she was creating one. But in the end I was worried that it would be too busy for me to pull out a whole spread of it vs the one card oracle pull I’m used to. I do love the artwork though! I’ll be really interested if you ever decide to do a follow up once you’ve worked with it a while 😊💚

I love the artwork. The folk style is right up my street, also the unusual keywords. When I first started watching I made a note to purchase a copy, but as the flick-through continued, the sad faces started to jar on me. They are ALL sad. It may depend on the card interpretations, but I think it would stop me picking up the deck….unless I was feeling sad, maybe.

The introduction in the oracle deck says, "The portrayals are meant to be non-specific so everyone can relate to them. The characters are often introverted, covered and alone or communing with animal familiars, representing the most important journey of going within, to that quiet place of recognition and transformation." This is why the deck appeals to me so much. I can relate to the introvert, alone time, and animals. I don't know if the intro to the tarot is the same, but this may help show why the faces are mostly neutral.
