Ah! fellow Oxfordians "We band of brothers (and sisters!)" I view Fisher's Folly as the outcome of an idea that germinated in Oxford's mind when he visited Titian's studio in Venice. If Titian can have a studio of young artists that contribute to his masterworks, and share ideas...why can't I (Oxford) have a studio of playwrights and poets that accomplish the same thing in literature!

A thoroughly interesting, fascinating, & entertaining discussion on several levels.👏 I am curious about a specific detail Dorothea mentioned at the (8:50) mark, that : "[Oxford] buys [Fisher's Folly] in 1580, within 5 days of the earthquake..." The 1580 earthquake was on 6 April. I'd really love to know Dorothea's source for pinpointing that date, as in all my reading on the subject (including Nelson), I've only found it stated that Oxford made the purchase sometime in _early_ 1580. If Dorothea happens upon this comment, or anyone else who may know, do tell! In any event, again, thank you.

Caley Greyhounds ? From the armorial of Edward devere? Think someone -Roger Stritmatter - had mentioned previously. I’m wondering about the Cornwallis family of which you speak possibly being that of General Cornwallis who reported to King George III that “the presbyterians have run away with the colonies”. A leading member of British aristocracy a new school of thought postulates being at work to allow the independence of the American colonies. Arguing (about 1h 07) that Green is a pen name punning on the French word for the color green, because it sort of sounds like Vere… is not great. These don’t sound the same. Regardless, we don’t know how Oxford and contemporaries spoke, well enough, to say. To generalize: we should avoid ancillary arguments or suppositions that are easily refuted. This comes up all the time in with the “decryption” enthusiasts, who too often are merely hallucinating, or finding patterns in random noise by inventing signals (coded messages) that don’t really exist. I think Ros B. makes this point recently: focus on the critical path. Avoid the two steps forward, one step back. Especially when it risks inversion: two steps slid backwards (when refuted by others) un-does the hard work of even making one step forward. The spurious and speculative are not constructive enough, in this regard, to be worth the risk or the distraction. There is so much gold in them thar hills, the iron pyrite cuts no ice. Respectfully, p.s. The pub stuff is a bit much at times. Less is more.

Fisher's Folly, the 1500's equivalent of Bletchley Park, with De Vere as (maybe) manager and (possibly) a cover for the men doing the code breaking? The 'minds' were there, so what else were they up to, besides being playwrights and poets and having a jolly time....?
