I just happed to see a documentary about Janine Jansen recording Beethoven OP 61 a few years ago Paavo was conducting. I’m 73 and watching that documentary really touched me. I listen to classical music everyday now for a few hours. I love violin concerto’s. I was impressed by Janine, goes without saying but also Paavo. I wish I could watch him from the musicians point of view. I enjoy his art what he does to the music but his physical movements and facial expressions also move me. Thanks for sharing this.

My very first classical music teacher was Walt Disney and his passion for Tchaikovsky expressive compositions, it starts that age. But l would not swear it. Brahms Hungarian Dances were my mother favorites,l think they were memories from the womb, classical music is a lifestyle, the best life matie, beyond musicians that are doing it as a professional job and career, keeping dear things saved in our hearts database is more than important. Most of classical composers used to work for Royal families, it was their main goal to reach their hearts and the impact is still very strong, classical music is very emotional sensitive very sentimental. At the same time is creating a parallel universe the perfect oasis of freedom anyone can get away and feel safe from any other threat, most of all depression, sadness loneliness, Mozart did it for first, we all can get that heavenly feeling. You are very important as professional music performers to teach properly this precise...input of life Maestro & co

To everything, there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time for Classical music. A time for pop music. Humans are various. Their tastes are various. Let it be.

I always dance for joy when I hear the opening of Sibelius' 3rd. Wonderful documentary. How cynical some of the statements are, now that a real WAR is going on. Estonia is a sovereign and free country. Pray it stays that way.

Aside from a few broad generalizations about taste (like Hip Hop fans being ignorant of the influence and history of European music any more than the influence and history of Asian or African music) this is a great doc. Thanks!

Once even Bach was ... outrageous like a rock star to put the world upside down and offer the audience something.. nobody ever tried to dream before. There are many kind of feelings about music, just like making the difference among a Mondrian painting or Monet, among Debussy style or Sibelius feelings, each one is giving other kind of sensations, same thing happen among conductors, Gergiev is melting leaking, Bernstein is agressive instead. The Mozart Requiem is about a funeral vision, but in a martyrs heroic version is the most beautiful Life celebration. Classical music is not dead, a lot of musicians can improve it. Watching the latest Mehuhin violin competition, very young violin players, nine ten years old wonder kids perform Vivaldi like video games soundtrack and from my point of view, what Liszt loved to do, transform the folk traditional songs on to a big wide symphonic orchestra version is still possible, it's heavenly delight indeed and ..seducing audience like Brahms used to do is still very actual so..dear music stars, good luck and never forget how much you mean to us as fans. Web connection is creating the stadium oceanic crowd effect, l love to feel a supporter for champions of life as musicians are, giving you all the support and encouraging you because...classical music is making of our lives a better place, that's for sure

Web connection is a very powerful technology, we can not afford ourselves to let it be used for criminal intentions, for bullying and spreading hatred, for creating new organized crime or even worse. Back in 2001 the web connection was about video games and things for young students, using the connection as a toy to play with. When video players in Japan used the connection to organize mass suicidal datings, that scandalized me so much, l said myself, l can not stay out of it and after 20 years, nobody could stay out of it anymore. We create the connection the trends and it's our duty to make the difference. Classical music, exactly like during Beethoven ages, is creating welfare, is the best way for business happenings datings and social events, the best way to use the web connection in a safe way, do not allow evil intentions to ruin the magic, but learning to be decent respectable kind of people among the others. Each technology is different, in KZbin we watch self-service TV entertainment but Facebook is crucial, for those who do not have even idea how classical music could be delightful, for young generations that need a safe playing ground to get the first classical input, as Disney was for me since l was six years old. Learning to decide which virtual friends to pick up safely

Young people not attending concerts because music is old or not relevant? I'm young and I don't attend Kanye West or Carbi b because it's not relevant to my life..... It's just culture and btw plenty young people attend a Debussy concert because he's relevant in their lives

Opera is a dead art form because the art of singing in the European operatic tradition is lost, and shows no sign of being found any time soon. What has replaced opera is a type of drama with bizarre sets and costumes unrelated to the story, intoned by amplified wobble-voices. I am quite serious.

So much hype and hyperbole of the kind that you so often get with people who talk about classical music. Just play the music and enjoy it. Talking about music is so off-putting.
