Synopsis
In this engaging drama, Azami Onijuro, a former covert spy for the shogunate turned ronin, traverses the Kiso Highway with his carefree ronin companion. Upon reaching the Echizen Domain, they meet Osode, a woman seeking Onijuro's exceptional skills for a journey to Owari. Osode, hailing from a prominent family in the Katsuyama Domain, possesses a crucial letter sealed in blood. This letter reveals a treacherous plot to assassinate her domain's lord, orchestrated by the Deputy Chief and the lord's younger brother. As Onijuro and his group agree to help, they quickly find themselves pursued by the chief retainer's top enforcer.
This special drama, which aired on TV Asahi on March 30, 1992, features Hiroshi Tachi, renowned for his comedic roles, showcasing his talent in portraying eccentric characters. Teamed with Jun Inoue, celebrated for his comedic prowess, their dynamic forms an exceptionally entertaining and unconventional duo.

what a great movie! I guess all wanted to kill Kijuro but he's just too good and brutal for their enemy. too bad Koinosuke died, otherwise, he could be accompanying Kijuro on his next journey. why is it that Kijuro is almost the same as Nemuri Kyoshiro? except that whenever Kyoshiro was with a woman, she would end up dead. btw, looking forward to the next one of this.
