It's terrible when anyone dies that young from alcoholism. It sounds like she didn't stand too much of a chance starting so young. My best friend / cousin died at 38 from hepatitis from alcohol and drugs. So sad to see people go that way.

Let's not forget she had multiple drunk driving charges; including one where she hit a car with a couple and their baby inside, and another where she drove through the window of a coffee shop and injured the janitor. She thought nothing of continually drinking and driving, so my sympathy for her is nullified by her drunken disregard for others.

On one channel - showing British crime dramas from the 1950s, great films, great discussions in the Comments - the uploader would give so much information that I felt there was no point in seeing the film after reading them. It's like a blurb on a book that tells you everything that's in the first hundred pages. The filmmakers go to quite a lot of effort to introduce characters - through *show, not tell* ... and then someone cones along and reveals Act One and up to middle of Act Two. . PS Sixteen minutes in, and something seems FISHY, but if I already knew from the synopsis what it was, wouldn't be bothered watching! .

PLOT- In this sequel to "The Uninvited," David Fielding (Joel McCrea), who has recently lost his wife, moves into a new neighborhood under a cloud of suspicion. Many feel that his wife's death in a car crash was no accident. Elizabeth Howard (Gail Russell), the governess he hires to look after his children, makes it her mission to find out the truth. When other murders seem to be following David to his new town, Elizabeth investigates with the help of David's son Barnaby (Richard Lyon).

Good movie. Had you enthralled until end. Mystery solved and then romance out of nowhere. He didn’t Mrs Tigard just go to police. Still doesn’t explain why Barney had to leave door unlocked. And if the father knew partially what was going on, he should have sent kids to grandma’s a long time ago and been more understanding with the governess. He never questioned the watch. And what did any of it had to do with coal coming out of chute versus bags covering up chute.

I come into KZbin through Samsung Internet Browser -rather than through the KZbin app - and have two adblockers. Only get ads at the beginning: two ads at most - and then turn off sound until pressing Skip, and film begins. Only get ads on a few of these old films. Most channels don't have ads. If go in through the YT app, and there are ads after the beginning, I close the screen and go to Samsung. Hope that's helpful!

The opening reminded me of the old Kolchak series. Good movie always a good watch, but... The ending is stupid as it was in the majority of the movies from this era. No relationship development but yet they are magically in love at the end. Murder, chaos, children put at risk, and in the end "we're going to Disneyland"!
