In the second game, a red said “dude left after he got halved” so technically was still 12 v 12 with one loser red.

The Cougar is still one of my all-time favorites in the game. I first bought it after watching one of your videos extolling its virtues.

Never played this game so my opinion doesnt mean crap but ive watched so many mechs youve built and run but this one seems so under whelming and kind of losing in the satisfaction of feeling like your running some badass weapons. Again never played just how it made me feel watching the vid. As always great video man. You make the game look fun.

Haha nah he fought after he got halfed so he was still fighting we all saw where he was found, guy that said 11 vs 12 was just coping really hard about that awesome rebound you guys pulled. 😅

Yeah, I've noticed people overlook the cougar to an alarming degree. Which, sure if it's a missile cougar or something silly, but the moment it voms lasers or starts spraying UAC/proto fire, you really need to adjust your threat profile. Have had way too many people just sit there and ignore the vom Cougar DUMPING 2x HLL + ERMED into them. Let alone the ones who for whatever reason think 2x UAC/5 can be safely ignored.

The Cougars, including this hero, are on sale atm. I thought the mech seems nice, I`d give it a try, with UACs... OH, BOY! I almost got blinded by the flashes of the UACs, right next my face. Special warning for those who suffer from epilepsy. Heat vision doesn`t help either. Adders have the same problem with the torso mounts.

Rather than the arm mounted PAC4, you can get 4xERMLs and DHS using the C right arm. Means you're not reliant on ammo, but also does significantly more damage.

So I'm sure you've been told a million times to get Advanced Zoom on longer range builds. I've also seen how you struggle to use it at times. I think you should use it more as a way to identify targets outside of your sensor range. So basically, use it in the early game or possibly late game if it's just a couple mechs sitting at range, as a way to spot targets, then switch to normal view to fire at them. I still think with practice advanced Zoom is worth it every time. Maybe adjust your dpi settings? I play with in-game set to as low as I can go with sensitivity and turn my mouse dpi way up. Also, having a mouse with a quick switch to a lower dpi setting is nice for long-range engaments.( This is all my own opinion, and you've probably been told all this before lol)

i read cougar potato auto cannons at first glance, i was like, must be a weird kuritan variant. Read it a second time and went ; yeah that makes more sense.

Really not impressed with the proto-autocannons in general. The DPS is just too low. Even with a game where you survived to the very end you only got 700 damage with a pretty splashy weapon (because of weapon convergence). Not incredible.

I don't see any reason to use them over either the standard or ultra AC's. I've tried it on several mechs and it's always underwhelming

Try 8 proto AC4s on a Ultraviolet. It is wonderful.

I just dont see why youd run this when you can run like a scattershot or other medium mech with AC spam. Cute build tho Bara, enoyed this.

Everything about this build is wrong. Do not do it. Prior to the new weapons I had dual uAC 5s. 10 damage and double tappable. Basically that 10 damage is on a .5 second cool down. Much better than this build. Longer range faster firing. With the new weapons, I keep 7 of the eight pods, only change the head (for ECM) and use pAC8s in the high mounts, and srm4s in the arms. These weapons synch well together and make me a gnarly little brawler in the late game. Bigger alpha and still relatively quick firing.

I'm trying to run double lb5x autocannons on a Centurion D variant, the cooldown is I think half a second so dyou think that's a decent build? I usually do 600-900 damage but the higher half of that depends on me having a decent team that can allow me to constantly land my hits cuz the dps really isn't that high.

PACs aren’t maybe in their best place yet, but I do like the PAC 8’s in niche brawler builds. I’ve been a pair on a Huntsman along with AP gauss and some SPL’s for shenanigans. It either tends to go really well or really badly.

@@itsjaivn That centurion is epic. That 60% cooldown is so much fun. But as with all dps mechs (and this one is incredible dps) it requires a different play style than poking. "DPS isnt that high", that's where you are wrong bucko. 20 dps is very very good as far as DPS builds are concerned. Would you call 20 machine guns low dps? How about 3 clan beam lasers? Because that is what this mech does. Just dont try to be a poker with it.

@@Takenmynameandmycat The light pACs are just about being light. They arent meant to be a replacement for regular autocannons on mechs that can carry regular autocannons. They are meant to be used by light mechs, with a single balistic hardpoint and some lasers. Like say, the LGD Urbie. They are supplemental baliistics with some range, and they fill that role well. They are not a primary weapon, sort of like having a couple medium lasers in some other build. Just a bit more damage. The pAC8s however, are great. For a mech that has two balistic hardpoints, in like, the same location so you have a choice. One single ac 20, or 2 pAC 8s. The pACs are lighter and fire faster. Think of a pair of them as an AC 16. Something in between an ac10 and ac20.
