Pro tip for the tip man: if you have to use rags or sewing kits to bandage yourself, don't bother to disinfect the rags/sewing kit. Every time the item takes damage in your inventory, it loses its disinfected status. Instead, keep your disinfectant of choice tucked safely away in your inventory & on the off chance you end up with a wound infection, you can disinfect yourself directly. Your disinfectant will last a lot longer that way 👍

Hello, I just wanted to share a bit. I am rather new to DayZ and I swallow almost all content that I can find. I play a bit on the side when i have the time. So, first of all, thanks a lot for your videos, they have helped me a lot, this one also. But also your more gameplay related videos are great, much appreciated. Second, in one of your recent videos you asked if people could comment where they are from, who you are reaching, etc.. So, I am Danish, but live in Czech Republic for over 13 years now. And being really new to DayZ, I only learned 2 days ago that the 2 official maps are real topographical representations of areas here in Czech Rep made me quite excited. So, now I know that where I am walking in the game, I might also have been walking/driving in real life a well. And that just adds to the enjoyment I experience in the game and from the content I watch. Keep up the good work and take care of that finger.. Your hands are your bread and butter!

go find videos with "dayz in real life" type titles - lots of players and content creators have published real life visits to the areas and spotted the same kinds of buildings, locations etc, and then see if you can see your house :)

The most important tip: "Friendly!!! friendly!!! friendly!!!" loosely translates to "KOS" Also...water bottles left at wells with gas in them is super fun.

Just started playing last week. I've been trying to watch all your tutorials because they are informative and you don't play as a sociopath ;) My friend and I wasted 30 minutes last night trying to get logged into the same server at the same place but I kept getting randomized because I was using a survivor that I had an hour of play on... not realizing until watching this, that I couldn't 'create' a new one for a new server... so much to learn that has nothing to do with zombies and starvation lol

speaking from experience, so forgive me if i mislead but i accidentally forgot to empty my water once, it was literally a sip, I still freaked out so i popped a vitamin and i never got sick. so my advice is if you do drink dirty water take some vitamins or MAYBE tetra. to be clear i only tried vitamins but im assuming tetra could work as well. you can also use sewing kits to bandage and again speaking from experience, out of the 4-5 times i stitched myself up i did not get infected but im gonna guess i just got lucky

You got very lucky. Tetracycline had nothing to do with it. It was just luck. If you need to drink infected water the only medication that can help help are charcoal tablets as they can absorb any poison (if you drink infected water, or someone forced you to drink bleach/gas). As for the vitamins yes you were smart to use them as preventive method. They boost your immune system and make you less likely to get infections when bandaging, and they make you less likely to catch a cold even if you are naked or your clothes are wet

The only preventive meds are vitamines and charcoal tablets (and codeine before getting into a fight), Using tetra before bandaging etc doesn't prevent infections, only use Tetra if you are already sick as the pills are rare. But you can of course use vitamins as prevention, just not recommended if you don't have a lot of pills

He is right. If u take a vitamin 1st you can eat raw meat and drink from any water source without getting sick as long as the pill icon is on the bottom right of your screen

cam been watching you before buying the game, i have been going strong past 4 months or so? gosh time flys! anyhow i only play on official servers currently mainly chernarus since lavonia is not my cup of tea. i want to try some modded servers now to play more maps and experience them but im kind of at a loss of where to go. im looking for basically the base game but with more maps i dont want a ton of extras i suppose since i love the vanilla experience. so basically the vanilla experience on additional maps. sorry for the long winded question absolutely loving the game and loving your videos!

Appreciate all the support. And official can be kinda bland to some. I'd recommend joining the discord as we have an entire channel where my mods can add reputable quality MODDED (mostly vanillaessque) servers.

I don't think I have ever seen a Bandage that didn't say Disinfected. Also, dried fish clearly in the chart says it gives water.

For whatever reason when I find 15 bandages in a fresh spawn vs geared guy stunlock situation, 3-4 of the more damaged bandages never seem to be disinfected.

Bro, I hope i can just hold the tilde key to restore my UI instead of Settings > HUD Disable > Apply > HUD Enable > Apply. Update: nope, had to go into settings. I've been really bad about getting my hands bloody lately. I like to bare knuckle infected. That's good to know disinfectant can clean your hands. I think you should be able to wash your hands in streams and lakes as well, if not the ocean.I wonder if that's a mod that allows that, since whenever I try I don't get a prompt. You can wash your hands from a bottle or canteen (and probably a cooking pot).

You can wash in streams and lakes :) and canteen and so on! :) Big love my friend! You don't have to go into settings at all, you just turn hud on and use tilda.

Another important thing is DONT SPRINT AS A BEGGINER and go from cover to cover. You will spot more players and you will dehydrate and starve alot slower.

You forgot to mention that you can wash your hands with gas now, also I’ve never gotten sick from drinking water from an upright spawned water bottle. I think water bottles got changed so they are safe to drink assuming it’s spawned in and another survivor hasn’t messed with it.

I believe the odds are 50/50 on whether or not water that spawns in a container is safe to drink. Generally best to either dump it or take some vitamins with it if at all possible

you say all standing water has cholera then mention streams. I've often wondered if drinking from a stream was as dangerous as drinking from an already partially filled water bottle. I figured streams had less chance of making you sick than old water bottles or ponds.

Yeah streams are safer but not entirely safe (just like real life since the moving water makes it quite a bit less dangerous)

Streams are safer than stagnant water but just like irl they aren't entirely safe unless you boil or chlorinate it
