There is no debate. MJ set the bar too high! The only reason MJ's NBA stat totals are lower compared to Lebron's is because Jordan played 3 years of college before entering the NBA in 1984 and because MJ retired twice from the Bulls in the 1990's. Jordan missed all of the 1994 season and most of the 1995 season after his first retirement. Then MJ missed all of the 1999 , 2000 , and 2001 seasons after his second retirement. That is 8 full seasons of stats that MJ could of had but didn't. If so Jordan might of had what over 50,000 total points?? Something crazy like that. Also if you factor in where Lebron took most of his shots on the court and really analyze his shooting percentages from each area you will get a better picture and comparison between the two. 3ft and in towards the basket is where Lebron got alot of his buckets with fastbreak layups and dunks. From 3 ft and beyond the basket like in the post using post moves and the midrange Lebron struggled. For some reason Bron doesn't take many shots from the mid range or the post but these areas on the court is where his shooting % takes a big dip. From the free throw line Bron is way below average at 72%. From the 3 point line Lebron has been terrible , a bit under average or just average. A few seasons later in his career he did improve his 3 point shooting raising it up above 40% from there but I think Bron took advantage of Steph Curry's revolution of the game with the 3 point shot which changed the coaches mindset on how and when to take 3 pointers. It ushered in the use of analytics to determine a team's preferred shot selection for games and Bron's 3 point shooting has benefited from that these last 7 or 8 years. These last 5 years if you look at Brons regular season stats they have all slowly started dipping in a downward direction more and more each year once Bron turned 35 years old. Bron got very lucky though as well because the decline in his stat totals started right as his athleticism began to leave him and after the rule changes for NBA defenses were changed to benefit the offensive players with the ball. Bron can still get good numbers but with a wide open lane because there are very few big men in the league today compared to past eras but because of the 3 second rule the lane is wide open. You also can't even breathe heavy if your on defense guarding the offensive player let alone touch him or its a foul now.If you look at MJ he had no weaknesses to his game. He could score a bucket in many more ways than Lebron could. MJ had a lethal mid range shot with very little wasted movement that was very efficient. Jordan also had great footwork everywhere on the court but especially down low in the post with his back to the basket. He could go left or right with that turn around fadeaway jumper. His pump fake game was Lethal also. His layup package was phenomenal with reverse layups and just hanging in the air contorting his body creating moves in the air. Jordan shot 85% from the free throw line so you couldn't foul him to try and stop him or he'd make you pay. Another thing Bron didn't have was Jordan's cat like quick first step. He'd blow right by the defender and attack the rim. Jordan was also a 2 way player playing hard on defense. He could lock you down and steal the ball or come from behind or the side with those huge mitts of his when you weren't looking and block your shot. MJ used to block shots of the opposing teams centers!!! He had no fear!!! Jordan was also great at anticipating passing lanes and steal the ball from there for break away dunks. Jordan won the DPOY , the regular season MVP , the all-star game MVP , and was the NBA Slam Dunk Champion all in the same year in 1988. Jordan did it all out there. In 1989 his head coach at the time wanted MJ to play the point guard position. He did it for 13 games in a row and had insane numbers with like 12 triple doubles in that stretch with 11 of them in a row I think. So MJ could pass and rebound the ball and was great at it when he needed to be it's just that he was asked more often to score. Some say MJ's weakness was his the 3 point shot. Well I wholeheartedly disagree or agree to disagree. MJ just didn't take alot of the 3 point shots during his era. Most teams didn't shoot them. But there is plenty of evidence and footage of MJ hitting a 3 point shot when he needed too. Mostly MJ would take a 3 at the end of a quarter or half when the clock was running out or during a last game winning shot. There's more evidence in the shrug game in game 1 of the 1992 NBA Finals. Go check it out. The main point is Jordan was not a liability shooting the 3. That's why I say even though Bron has a 1% higher total career feild goal % over MJ.....Jordan was a far better pure shooter compared to Bron. It's actually surprising with the size of Jordan's hands. Usually a guy with huge hands like that can struggle as a shooter but MJ was the opposite. His hands allowed MJ to grip the ball or catch it with one hand and hold it up high in all sorts of contorted ways while floating to the basket for a dunk , layup , or jelly finger roll Ala The Iceman George Gervin! Jordan also had the sweetest touch with the ball and could get amazing spin and action while shooting a bank shot off the glass or flipping the ball backwards over his own head if he was fouled in the air and twisted around not facing the basket. MJ just had great touch with the ball and always knew where the basket was. He was blessed with amazing leaping ability and agility as well as athleticism that when combined with his footwork and fundamentals was unstoppable. They called MJ the black cat for a reason and its because his reflexes were so smooth and quick but also his game was just so beautiful to watch. Some called it poetry in motion and it's true but the eye test alone proves that Jordan had a charisma on and off the court that was very entertaining for people to watch. MJ was pure box office and he put on a show for the fans. Lastly I would have to say Jordan's drive on the court and his thirst for competition not wanting to lose is what helped separate him from other players as well. His work ethic and desire to improve and work on his basketball skills each year was extraordinary. Jordan was relentless and wanted to beat you so bad he would do anything to win. He was an assassin....a cold blooded killer on that court and that confidence and drive made MJ one of the best if not THE best late game closers and finishers the game has ever seen. Who would you want taking a last second shot to win the game and to save your life? MJ or Bron? Cmon stop lying!!!! 😆 Look MJ is the GOAT by far and by any metric you want to look at it point blank and period. Whether it's the individual accolades , the amount of winning he achieved , or his impact on the league and on the fans while he was playing......its MJ all day and twice on Sundays! He did it all and did it in only 13 seasons with the Chicago Bulls. He won at every level. Hit the winning shot for North Carolina in 1982 as a freshman becoming an NCAA college Champion. He won 2 back to back NBA slam dunk Championships in 1987 and 1988. Bron so far last I checked still has refused to participate. MJ became a two time Olympic Champion winning 2 Gold Medals in the 1984 and 1992 Olympics. He won 6 NBA Finals Championships and was named Finals MVP all 6 times. He won 10 straight regular season scoring titles with a career scoring average of 30.1 points a game. The highest rated NBA Finals ever in NBA history even after 25 years is still the 1998 NBA Finals Bulls vs the Jazz. I mean what??? Just what man.... MJ the GOAT!

LeBron's got no bag and there's no defense so there's just a boring game people can just get to the rim at any time they want that's not skill that's not basketball plus LeBron never had a high- level of Excellence I don't understand why people keep saying this when it's untrue he's not that good he's not even the best small forward his whole game just sucks

@@BasketballHeadlines vorp is not a per game stat. Vorp per game does not exist. Win shares are cumulative but lebron passed jordan in win shares the same amount of time jordan played year 15. He passed jordan in vorp in year 13.

@@sportstalkonly1442 You wrong about that. Lebron didnt pass Jordan in Vorp year 13.
