I appreciate the effort Xiao Zhan put into Wei Wuxian, he's truly one of the biggest reasons why that character came out as well as it did. Wei Wuxian doesn't look easy to portray and I'm so glad that they casted Xiao Zhan for it.

I once imagine, what if one day they make a new version of The Untamed. With such a popularity, a remake in the future is not totally impossible, right? Idk if my heart can ever accepts it, if that ever happens. Xiao Zhan is the only Weiying for me. Likewise, Yibo is the only one made for the role of Lan Zhan.

The moments he cried made it perfect, if WWX wouldn't cry in those moments it would make him seem cold and he is not a cold character. Xiao Zhan's acting was amazing and I think he showed the three different stages of WWX really well (the cute young WWX who always had fun and showed his bright smile to everyone; the WWX who had lost and sacrificed everything, was hated and feared by everyone for protecting innocent people who had helped him; and the WWX who came back and wanted to avoid the people from his past, realised that being with LWJ and knowing that he has a person that would stay with him, would protect him and would face hardships with him is making him happy, even though he is often reminded of his past that is still hurting him) So I as a viewer and a fan of the Novel have to say that Xiao Zhan did a perfect job, but if he himself says that he could've done better I think that is ok I still hope that he'll get the chance to show it (hopefully they will recored extra episodes like the extra chapters in the novel, I would love to see the chapters with the Hook Hand) ❤️☺️

I agree, Xiao Zhan did such an amazing job and really brought Wei WuXian to life. His chemistry with all the actors of the other major characters (Lan WanJi, Jiang Cheng, Jiang YanLi, Wen Ning, Wen Qing and Ah Yuan/Lan Yuan) really added depth to all the emotions that he portrayed on screen. I love the novel and I can't imagine a better Wei WuXian.

Kim did you know some tear scenes he asked to put them in himself because ALL Untamed characters have directed their own scenes a little bit and could ask the director for changes or redos and XZ wanted to do a cry scene because he really felt the pain of WWX so he said if I were him I would cry

The reason why the viewers relate and hooked by the character of wei wuxian is b'cpz the actor itself (xiao zhan) really do understand his character. That's the very important pillar for the artist to portray the character well. as someone who read the novels, i dont think anybody could ever top xiao xhan's interpretation of wei wuxian. he said that he overdid some of the scenes but honestly, i think he overdid it in a good way. you can literally feel his emotions especially those scenes with YanLi. you cant help but cry when you see him cry, and you cant help but smile when you see him smile.

what a lovely and humble person Xiao Zhan is! from the interview, he seems still quite unaware of his awesome natural acting talent that we all saw in untamed. he thinks he overacted when in actual fact he totally became WWX/WeiYing. that's what captivated the fans actually, that both he and Wang Yibo were so amazingly in character. what charmed the hearts out of many of us is not just their dropdead goodlooks and positively illegal smiles, but their empathy of the complex characters they played and the chemistry between them! :)

i never expected much from the drama, i have always felt that live adaptations of good novels end up becoming a disgrace for the novel, however, the untamed was so nicely done that it has completely changed my mind. the superb cast was the main factor for this. xiao zhan being casted as wwx was probably the best choice ever. he has done a great job at portraying wwx. this wwx is exactly what I'd imagined wwx to be like. especially while portraying the three different periods in wwx's life, i could actually feel the difference there. xiao zhan has brought my wwx alive and i couldn't be more thankful to him. idk what kind of comments he's been reading, but i hope all the nice comments under this video reach him too. he deserves all the love and praise he can get ❤

Exactly, I rewatched just to see where he over did it, and I didn't see, may be because am biased but I understand where he is coming from. I read somewhere that during the airing of the first few episodes there were critics in China saying he is overdoing and too feminine but look at God the drama did very well and we are proud of him and all the cast. Of course you can't please everyone, even Disney with all the money they invest in movies there is always people complaining.

The untamed is one of the best I've ever seen... I truly miss them all. My heart also aches for The Characters especially Lan Wanji And Wei wuxian.. Xiao Zhan did such an amazing job portraying WWX, that now literally everything I read relating to the untamed/MDZS (novel, fanfics) I instantly picture Xiao Zhan and only him as WWX. Same goes for Wang Yibo. These 2 were perfectly casted for their roles, and will be irreplaceable in my eyes, heart and mind. To be honest the whole cast was great, but the main leads were exceptional. Xiao Zhan is truly incredible in protraying the role of Wei WuXian. I have to shamely admit that I was one of those few people that felt like his acting was a little bit too much from the beginning and it was only because I didn't know how Wei WuXian is as a character, I then proceeded to see how the Donghua version of this drama portray Wei WuXian and immediately changed my mind and fell in love with him/his acting. Just like he said, yes his acting still has flaws. Yet, despite all those flaws, he is the Wei WuXian in the novel. He also has the ability to made the viewers feel his pain, his happiness...ect. He made the Character feel alive and that he is the perfect actor for Wei WuXain. As far as I know, Wei WuXian is not an easy role to portray and I have so much respect for him. I believe him When He said he could do better if he were given a chance now, but he I know he did his best and he definitely is the best actor in this drama.

I truly think that Xiao Zhan was the perfect actor to play Wei Wu Xian I'm watching the other version (anime/manga) and reading the novel now and I can truly say that he did amazing!! He can be proud of himself but also having this kind of reflection about his acting (like saying that for him he could have do better) is really good bc he knows that he can still improve, that now he did great but he can do better next time and that's great bc it help him to always evolve, it give him a goal

I never felt so much for a character in a drama. I was so sad and omg si heartbroken when nobody cared for the truth about wwx. I mean how can a person be so kind hearted and so deeply misunderstood?! I literally cried for him when he didn't even complained.. Xiao Zhan portrayed him sooooo good! U got another fan here!
