Now, just HOW did Jimmy Stewart change or save your life?

unlikely.

It is amazing to find out all that Jimmy Stewart accomplished in his life. When I was young my Mom and I always watched his movies together. I watch It's a Wonderful Life every Christmas. My favorite movie of his was Rear Window. I've lost count on how many times I have watched it. I loved watching all the old movies. They were so much better than those today.

They just don’t make um like James Stewart anymore.

Oh yes they do. There are LOTS of arrogant actors in Hollywood today. I hated that ******* creep.

Jimmy Stewart was a true gentleman, so much like my dad, Bruce. The looked alike when they were young. He was too young to serve in WWII like his elder brother. Deeply missed... Old school shining stars...
@Richard-f7q8 ай бұрын
You didn't know him. How can you say he was a "true gentleman?" Do you believe all the nonsense that came out of Hollywood then, or now??? He was a sick creep.

It's a Wonderful Life was the best comedy/drama ever made.

He was offered the lead role in the film "To Kill a Mockingbird" but refused saying it was too liberal. The part went to Gregery Peck.
@LJ-ht4zs9 ай бұрын
Actually, unfortunately Jimmy was a racist - and not playing the lead in that "liberal" movie - really had meaning.
@a1investigations4338 ай бұрын
He absolutely was not.
@a1investigations4338 ай бұрын
This isn't true. The exact quote was from Bill Frye was that it was too controversial but Jimmy would never say so. So it's Mr. Frye's opinion on why not what Jimmy said. Regardless, there is ample evidence that he was not racist. It's disheartening that a great human being's reputation can be tarnished by a couple of bad quotes and unsourced, unresearched junk videos 30 years after the man dies. There have been a lot of turds in hollywood, James Stewart wasn't one of them.

Harper Lee, author of “To Kill a Mockingbird”, very much wanted Gregory Peck to play Atticus Finch. The book was based on her father and she felt he resembled her father in many ways.She even presented him with her father’s watch when the picture finished shooting. The part may have been offered to Stewart,but she wanted Peck. I thought this was common knowledge.😊

Stewart was indeed a brave man piloting a bomber plane during WW2, and a damn good actor, but he was also a rabid right-winger who spied on friends and colleagues for the FBI during the Red Scare of the late 1940s-50s destroying the careers and lively hoods of many good people.

Jimmy Stewart must be rolling in his grave when he sees what his great-great grandson Jon Stewart has done with his legacy..not to mention Green Lanterns of Color.
