I recently had the pleasure of reading Mr. Stevenson's life story in his excellent book "The A & R Man". As a fellow native detroiter who grew up in the same neighborhood as Motown's famous "Hitsville" record studio back in the early 1960s, I can identify personally with the stories and experiences he shared in this very enlightening video. At one point in my life I either walked or drove by the studio everyday on my way to work; had the opportunity to meet several Motown artists along the way. Thank you for posting this.👍🏽

In the 60's as a kid in Detroit, I knew something was going on musically, everywhere my mother took me, musicians were everywhere. I stayed in the same neighborhood. I had no idea Detroit was the mecca.

@@M1ACADEMY1 Agreed. It's one of the many reasons I miss album credits. Without them, I would have never known about Mickey and his amazing body of work.

To me Mickey Stevenson was the driving force. The music was great but I feel he created the magic. Just look at everything that he had a hard in that we didn’t know about. He also realized before others when it was time to move on…

A lot of this is raw and unedited. Many people may say something by mistake in an interview. Everyone makes mistakes! 😃

This guy is a producer, but the producers of this piece don't seem to know about compression.
