I decided not to give my son up for adoption, partly because the potential adoptive couple said they sometimes drank wine with dinner and I thought - what if there is an emergency with the baby when their minds aren’t clear? I didn’t want him growing up with alcohol being a part of his life. Well, talk about being incapacitated by alcohol during an emergency…. I’m thankful this man is safe and was able to help others, but … you just never know when you’re going to need to be coherent and have full use of your mental capacities. I must admit, I wish alcohol were not part of this world.
