One of my first memories of ANYTHING was watching "Perfect Stranger" from my high chair and calling it "The Balki Show," but apparently I couldn't say 'Balki' so I called it the 'Bow-key Show.'

I remember seeing "Beverly Hills Cop" when it first came out in 1984 and its star, a young Eddie Murphy, was a tour de force in it. However, Bronson Pinchot as, "Serge," actually stole that scene with Murphy. I think that was the blueprint for his "Balki" character on "Perfect Strangers."

All these years (since the 1990s) I didn't know the reason why they showed the Winslows riding their bikes across that bridge in the opening credits. Turns out that was a homage to Perfect Strangers, the show they were spun off from. Thanks Juicy Pop for that information starting at 10:08.

I loved Perfect Strangers and I liked Family Matters until it was taken over by Steve Urkel. I wish Family Matters could’ve stayed what it was before it became all about that character. That is probably the reason I like Perfect Strangers more cuz it pretty much stayed the same throughout its run and no one character became the focal point of the show.
@lexkanyima219511 ай бұрын
But Harriet at that time really lacks the atmosphere of The Winslows, Urkel save the show's decline.
@patrickmaruniak59876 ай бұрын
You're a moron! Family Matters was dull until Steve Urkel came on there. That was the best decision they ever made putting Steve Urkel on there. I don't think the show would have lasted as long as it did if they wouldn't have put him on there.
