Our Jews were a valuable and vibrand part of every aspect of our society. Greece is poorer since they were forced away. In my town Nazis took away 197 Jews not one to ever return. We still maintain their Synagogue in hope to return it one day back to them.

There was a German naval officer who refused to transport captured Jews to the mainland because it said would sully the honor of the Kreigsmarine. Unfortunately he was one of the few. But he wasn't punished. No German was ever punished for refusing to participate in a war crime. German defense attorneys looked for that as an excuse for their clients. They never found any.

People thought my wife was Jewish . She was Greek and Lebanese born in Brookline N.Y.. It's all eastern Orthodox. God bless America and those whom LOVE our constitution and Bill of rights that all flock too.

Jews never came to Corfu from Spain. Spanish Jews only settled in ottoman empire Corfu never was. I'm dependent of Corfu and know it's history well. I'm sure there were some Jews there. But sad truth most Greeks back then didn't get along with Jews. Plus Muslims.back then jews were the Muslim turks tax collectors. Most Jews in Greece were in northern Greece. My mom grow up in 1930s Athens. Said jews were only bankers and jewelers. And we're not liked by common Greeks. That poor hating the rich. Me I have no hate for Jews or love. Greeks have been persecuted many times by Muslims and Jews. And the Pope. Just the jews get more media attention.
