Thanks for raising awareness of the plight of the people on Ile de Ronde. The Grenadines and Grenada are truly magnificent.

Never realized that so many people lived on the island.
@drcartervet2 ай бұрын
Yeah, families lived there for generations.

I had a French map of Grenada from the past and it was so interesting to see all the old names. Isle de Rhonde and Isle de Caille were the French names that stuck. Well Sauteurs is also French and we absolutely love these French names even more than the English ones.😊Thanks for the coverage.
@drcartervet2 ай бұрын
Yes most of the islanders call it after a broken version of the French name.

That was the best breakfast treat, together with my coffee and eggs of course; thanks for sharing. Sad parts: The dog's condition, and the destruction of the residents' homes and boats Funny parts: The coconut trees looking like closed patio umbrellas, and the guy catching the crabs Interesting part: The crab in the bulb's screw base, and the type and amount of resources available (water and power supplies) Overall, we enjoyed every bit of this video. Ronde is an incredibly beautiful island for sure, I had no idea it existed.

@@drcartervet Yes, he needs care soon. What amazes me is the fact that he is not 100% well, but was excited to see you guys. As for the residents, they need all the help they can get.

Isle de Rhonde ( Isle le Roon) and Isle de Caille (Isle le Kai) brings back good memories. It's been a while keeping abreast of these islands. Are they still privately owned?
@drcartervet2 ай бұрын
Caille is privately owner by a Grenadian family. Ronde is not; the families that live there owns the land they are using. But the majority of Ronde was up for sale somewhere as a private island

Wow thanks for sharing but one question is this the same island close to Sandy Island and Green Island you can see from Levera and Battway, Isle de Rhône’ (Isle lah Roon)? If it is why are you calling it ‘Ronde Island’?
@drcartervet2 ай бұрын
Well just off Levera we have Sugarloaf island, Green Island, and Sandy Island. Further up we have Diamond Head, Ronde Island (Isle-ah-roon), and Caille Island (Isle-ah-kai).
