Ur mom should be able to tell from "Speaking Dialect" and "Not Able to Speak Good English". Speaking dialect does not affect your english or chinese standard. It is all up to u to be able to uphold both languages and dialect. Even if u can't speak good english, u still have to communicate, so using dialect does not really hurt.
