I totally agree. I got my appendix removed in 1971. In those days that meant a week in the hospital and about 3 weeks at home recovering. I watched The Captain and The Electric Company on PBS. Morgan Freeman starred on this show. Great memories, even though I was recovering from the surgery. Oh did I mention the surgery was performed with a rusty, dull butter knife😂😂

thank you so much for this. 💕 being born in 1965, i grew up on captain kangaroo, sesame street and the electric company, with an occasional mr. rogers thrown in. these shows taught me so much about life, and i don't just mean numbers and letters. 🤗 a good part of what's wrong today is the lack of access to these types of shows. yes, sesame street is still on, and still doing an exceptional job of educating young people, but it's missed by generations in daycare who never see it. 😞

I grew up watching this show and I never even pictured the Captain Kangaroo as being only 30 years old. He sure fooled me. I was two in this show came out and I really don't remember it until I was older. And became bored with it. There's a song painting flowers on the wall that don't bother me at all smoking cigarettes and watching Captain Kangaroo now don't tell me I have nothing to do. That keeps captain kangaroo in my mind.
