I'm guessing you don't share my sense of humour!! Fitbit thinks I am able that's the funny part. It's a great boost to be told you can walk 500 steps.. most people find that hysterical! As it happens I can't push a wheelchair so don't get a tremendous workout by any means this is just from using a powerchair and moving my arms and hands below the elbows.
@richlaue7 жыл бұрын
a Fitbit thst is mounted to the arm will not be monitoring leg movememts, but only is able to look at arm movements. yes i see your humor, but suggest you think of it mire as a level of activity.
@CC-yq5bw7 жыл бұрын
That is not correct. A fitbit can be in your pocket, attached to your hips or taped to your neck and it will still pick up steps because the 3-axis accelerometer will sense the up/down motion of the body.

Agreed. It all depends on how the person uses it and also what other changes they make. Fitbit and a change in daily activity such as eating and exercise can make a big difference but Fitbit motivates some people more than others which goes back to my first point, it depends on the person.

Very interesting video. When I do purchase a Fitbit I do tend to lose weight during that period because I know that it's always counting my calories burned and tracking my heart rate. I'm currently rocking the Charge 2 and the heart rate monitor seems to be the best on it as I've had the Blaze, Surge, and Charge HR in the past.

Dirty Laundry: I genuinely don't see a problem, plus I encourage shops to profile me! Fatness Tracker: The user is at fault, not Fitbit! Psychological Thriller: Great!

Dunk The Tall - Actually if you buy a Fitbit within the EU, you are protected by EU privacy laws globally. Buy it anywhere else on the planet and... hello all your personal data being stored in the USA. An even more direct answer to your question: no, I have no privacy concerns. I am law-abiding and fantastically healthy... what information that Fitbit has would I be so protective of?
@mojomojo57797 жыл бұрын
Sam Saltwell The point isn't that you have nothing to concern yourself about personal data being stored by strangers. It is the fact that once society allows it, corporate and government entities naturally creep deeper into your personal life, and that is never good. Especially once the shit hits the fan in a culture/society/country. Individual liberty should be paramount to all else.

Invasion of privacy was the main reason I returned the Charge 2 and bought the series 3 Apple Watch. Happy with my decision even though I had to pay more. With the Apple Watch, I have the option to turn off sending private and personal data to the cloud. I can have data stay on my watch and iPhone. I do however miss the Fitbit sleep tracking data display/interface which I think is better than what the “third-party apps” on my Apple Watch display. I love the sleep stages chart on the Charge 2. One more thing, the charge 2 is constantly monitoring your heart rate. Apple Watch monitors HR continuously only while exercising; when not exercising, the interval between data capture is 5-10 mins. As for the build quality, I hated how the tapping the screen does not always work on charge 2. That pissed me off quite a bit and that was the second reason I returned it.

With 50€ more (idk how much it costs in America or in GB). Go check the Fitbit Versa, may help you

Marcelin Aïvar expensive? Maybe. Too expensive? No I don't think so. And why does it become 'useless' when you're on a vacation? I love to keep track of my steps no matter where I am. I would not go for the versa. It seems the versa is laggy and doesn't uptain information all that well. At least that is what I read on other peoples reviews. I also read that some versa's just stop syncronising after a while. Very weird. Sooo I'm gladly sticking with my charge 2.

Untold truth: Overpriced as fuck. Look at garmin, xiaomi, huawei, and other companies making way better products for way cheaper. All you are paying for is the brand name.Look at the fitbit zip, like what the fuck is that for $60? It probably cost $5 to make. Compare that to the Mi Band 1S, 2 , and the 3, all of them are way cheaper, even the 1s blows it out of the water. But the 3 has notifications, continuous heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, pedometer, activity tracker, 5ATM water resistance rating (50 meters underwater), and 20 day battery life. And all of that for the measly price of $30. Fitbit Altas probably cost around $20-30 to make but are $120+. Other companies like amazfit even have smartwatch functions like built in gps, same water resistance rating, and such for under $100. In addition, some bands also have ECG tracking and blood pressure, oxygen levels, etc. Apple actually has different things to offer, fitbit, not so much.oh and btw all the things i mentioned also have alarm reminder call notifications text notifications and app notifications, as well as a wake up alarm and a smart alarm that detects when you are in light sleep.

Bought the Alta HR one for my gf. €169, Brought it home and tried to set it up for her. After over an hour of trying to sync it to her phone I googled the problem ( no instruction book with device). I found that some smart phones can't be connected as fitbit haven't the software yet. Furious as I wasn't told this in the shop I rang and expected a refund. Happily the store was willing to refund me provided it was in perfect condition and had receipt. So bottom line is to avoid this, check your phone is compatible as some don't connect. Maybe some places won't be as helpful.

Yes and no it motivated me cause I actually have some what of a acountability and have something to base my calories on. Like if I workout my heart rate is 110 most the day I will burn probably 10 percent more calories a day and even if let's say I run a mile outside it will track it and does pretty damn well with its own GPS AND have Google map lines drawn out without Internet or the phone by you're side. I would just always workout eat 800 cess calories and had nothing to show cause I'm not ripped so I can now have a bade line or something. Even if that thing is off 20 percent I'm okay with let's say 1000 calories but I burnt 800.

I don't have a fitbit, but I think I will register a lot more steps when I get one because I won't have to rely on having my phone in my pocket to record movement. I don't think just wearing it will motivate me. Having a challenge to compete with others does though. and since they measure it by steps, I've become a lot more inefficient at work, making several trips to the printer instead of printing all the pages at once!

If you have a computer, I dont see why you need to have an account in order to use this device. There is no such thing as absolute privacy on line, its a big lie. This is the slippary slope to big brother. Ofcourse Apple share information with US security. If you have negative views on your government, then your health and activity could easily be used against you. If your health is just below average , employers in the future could refuse you a job. Medical insurance won't cover you even if you have an accident because you are on a red list. You are willingly handing over your personal details to those who will abuse it one day. Experince has made me cynical but not paranoid. Enjoy a full life with real friends.

Still enjoy my Fitbit. Just ashame their scales aren't better. Like many people out there with their first generation Aria, shortly after the warranty expired it went into the "step off, thinking, err" code. Like many I took it apart and tried to correct the issues to no avail. Sadly Fitbit is not being very helpful in these cases and many of us have $170 paper weights that have to go into e-waste.

I have been wearing my Fitbit Versa day and night since the end of January/first of February and a few weeks ago, I felt what I thought was me being shocked by the Fitbit. I talked myself into thinking it was my imagination until it happened several times and now I am having some pretty severe nerve pain from my left wrist where I wear the Fitbit and several inches up my arm. It has gotten bad enough that I finally stopped wearing it at night which is sad because I love how it tracks my sleep. Love everything the Fitbit tracks for me but I am VERY concerned about the pain it causes in my left arm and now after seeing dozens and dozens, maybe hundreds of similar complaints online, on KZbin and even on the Fitbit Community. What is disappointing almost as much as the pain the Fitbit products are causing people is the "Moderators" continually blaming the people for not wearing it properly or not following care instructions...REALLY???!!! I.Don't.Think.So!!! Wayyy too many people having the exact same shocking, nerve pain and issues going on. We are intelligent adults and we know how to follow proper wearing and care instructions! There HAS to be more to this problem and someone needs to get to the bottom of it to find out why it is happening and if it is causing us permanent nerve damage or something! I have seen comments as far back as 3 or 4 years with these SAME complaints! Come on Fitbit, help us out!
