The covers are called scrim, and it is a slightly elastic, fire / heat resistant material.

I really like these but too bad they don't project light very high. If you have 30 or 40 foot high columns or walls to light up, these will only reach 15 feet max. They need to make filters to give options for beam angles and projection.
