Some economists have projected that both the U.S. and parts of Europe could slip into a recession for a portion of 2023. A global recession, defined as a contraction in annual global per capita income, is more rare because China and emerging markets often grow faster than more developed economies. Essentially the world economy is considered to be in recession if economic growth falls behind population growth.

As with any business, we must focus on both spending and revenue. You cannot slash revenues and only focus on spending, and be successful. Our tax code needs to be revised. Also, the US$ is a fiat currency. It has no inherent value. It''s value is based on the credit of the US, not on a scarcity model like other commodities. As long as the US maintains its credit, the US$ remains the world's reserve currency. What needs to happen IMO is we need to eliminate the debt ceiling, as it is unconstitutional (14th amendment), and enables the govt to forego agreeing to an actual budget and borrow later. We then need Congress to start taking their constitutional duty to propose a budget, rather than try to make that the responsibility of the President. In other words, we need to return to using the system as it was designed.

The US has ben teaching other countries how to live off of credit cards. Few lawmakers may raise the credit debt limit at the eight time. , making it easier for the President to take another loan for 1 trillion dollar. Additional loan. Funny that earlier generations in the old world, and in the US, never thought about it. The US is like a homeless person who inherited a house worth 33 million dollars and a bank balance of $12.. Sri Lanka is like a person who loves food banks and food stamps despite having a positive bank balance. Now the homeless person cannot pay taxes or other utilities on the house. The bank balance of the US is negative 33 trillion dollars. The US owes 33 trillion dollars. The lawmakers must have done something unethical for the US to have such a colossal debt. Sri Lanka got free grains and free wheat from Russian Federation. Last year, Sri Lanka told Vlad their bank cash is low. The bank balance of Sri Lanka, an Island nation, is positive 644 million dollars. Sri Lanka is like someone who asks for food stamps. Despite having a positive bank balance. The average president of the US before the current sitting President likely used to love to flash out credit cards to spend credit card money on behalf of Uncle Sam to the tune of 33 trillion dollars debt. Lawmakers should cancel all credit cards of the US government. So the US government should spend only tax money from taxes collected.

started investing when I was 27, mostly through sweat equity. I just turned 33, and this last month was the first time that my passive income broke $100,000 for the month. This is solid advice! DO IT!

@KelvinJames-mh9piNot at all, having monitored my portfolio performance which has made a jaw dropping $473k from just the past two quarters alone, I have learned why experienced traders make enormous returns from the seemingly unknown market. I must say it's the boldest decision I've taken since recently.

Marko. One of your best videos. What the issue might be is to create a crisis on purpose to achieve certain oligarth goals. Example might be to cause loss stock market loss. One would buy puts or simply sell short SPY. Then collect big time after the market collapsed. I guess my confidence in our government is not what it might be otherwise. But you did a great job on this video.

If they keep raising it, why have one in the first place? I'm no economic expert, but why don't they talk about cutting spending instead of raising the ceiling?

Because its easier for them to run up the debt than to pay it off..they are drunken sailors spending money they don't have since 1971. If the government was fiscally responsible the debt wouldn't be in the trillions and trade deficits running for decades. This is why the Dollar has lost value with inflation driven spending by the government funded by the FEDs debt monetization scheme aka Quantitative Easing.

I disagree, Stocks are a very effective tool in a monetary collapse. Because a Stock is not just the daily ticker price. It is that you own a piece of a company. So whatever new currency comes online after a default, that piece will be worth something. Now will it be a good Idea that the price of that value will make you rich during the process? No. But in the ww2 peasants were the riches people because loafs of bread were paid in gold and silver and at some point your diamonds were only worth a pound of butter. I am not sure, but I will rather be in a company that has a high likelyhood of surviving.
