Et celui qui parlait d’espoir à la fin du film ne savait pas que l’Irak n’avait pas encore vécu le millième des conséquences désastreuses de l’invasion américaine : insurrection sunnite, guerre sectaire, émergence d’al Qaida, proclamation du califat de Daesh, interventionnisme de l’iran, massacres de sunnites par les milices chiites. Tout compte fait seul un homme comme Saddam pouvait tenir un pays comme l’irak.

You’re absolutely right, I’ve just turned 35, I pretty much remember 9/11 then a couple years later the Iraq invasion. In the grand scheme of things those events were not that long ago, but at the same time it seems ancient history like you said. Very strange.
