This song means so much to me. I am currently spending a year away from home, and before I left I made a cut out project for my girlfriend. It has one figure on one side of a large wall, and the other finding a way over the wall with a ladder. In the background are the lyrics to this song. I spent hours on end making this for my girlfriend. I gave it to her before I left, and she still has it. I'm only eight months away from coming home, hang in there babe and let love find a way.

this was the very first song my parents danced to at there wedding when I was 7, from there everything was great...things went wrong being a confused 7 year old I didn't know any better so I just continued on with life not knowing they weren't happy together. my mom started drinking a lot and going to the bar a lot and my dad was left with me and my sister, my dad never hit anybody but he had super anger issues. when I was 9 my mom stopped drinking a lot and started going to school to become a veterinarian, after a couple months of that she said she need space and she moved into a basement sweet and I was 9 and all in thought was cool two house....I didn't know what this was leading too tho....I turned 10 years old...by the age 11 my parents got a divorce and im 14 now....my speech before my parents danced was..."I love my mom and my dad and everybody that is here this is the happiest day of my life" this is the greatest gift I could have ever been givin was this song....its the only memorys I have of my mom and dad still....

Hey man I read your story and I'm sorry to hear about what happened. It must have been very difficult. Unfortunately parents are just people and it doesn't always work out for people due to other issues. They did deeply love each other but unfortunately things sometimes fade away due to extenuating circumstances. Lot's of us look back towards The Used for the amazing memories we had back when we were younger. Trust me there are a lot of us. Make new amazing memories with people and grow stronger. You have learned from that experience and now hopefully you can use it to help other people and make a difference to those around you spreading genuine smiles because you have a good heart my friend.

Best advice anyone can give you, be happy. Don't let all this depression and hate suck your life because of the choices your parents made(if you feel that way). I'm 28 and my parents are still together, worse mistake of their lives. All my brothers have depression and we are so pessimistic. Why? Because our parents made us this way. It was for the best that they separated bud. One day you will understand.
