The Used aren’t my favorite band (but they are never off my weekly listening,) but it’s crazy how they have consistently managed to put out great music after all of these years. Even bands I like more have put out albums I didn’t like or didn’t connect with, but what The Used have managed to do is rare. They have never seemed out of touch or trying to relive the glory days, and in saying that, I do realize they have said this is supposed to be like their earlier albums...but it really sounds like its own thing. Hope this band never goes away.

For a lot of people it wasn’t as popular for sure. It was still head and shoulders above most all other options that came out that year. How many other bands took a risk and did something new? Not many. The Used wanted to make an album that was authentic to their live sound. I’d say it turned out pretty damn well considering how hard it is to record straight to cassette tape. But if thats not your thing then their artistic liberties don’t count for much.

Wow, these guys are really coming together in their sound and influence as artists. Its pretty surreal being from the same town as them(infact I'm in that town now((Orem,UT). Every single word, song, album they have put out resonates in me. I've been through everything Bert has been through up until the band was signed up by their first label. You said "these guys are really coming together". The Used has been a band for just about 20 years but this is their 3rd lineup change. I'd say they really came together a long time ago. They're just still moving forward and evolving with new guitarists. You also talk like they're virtually unknown. The Used has a huge following still today and at one point was extremely well known. The most well known band in their style of music and some of the top selling songs and records in the world during their time. I'm 35 years old and lived through it all. I've been listening to them since before their first record released and they've been my favorite band since. I've been to countless shows around the world and follow everything they do. I'm sorry, but you just don't sound like someone who really knows the band and what they've done. Or I can't imagine you saying some of those things.
