In case anyone else(other than NL) is wondering why the AI doesn't use the rerolled dice sometimes, is because the AI is programmed to use the next certain piece of equipment in line, and if it's shocked with only one dice, the AI believes it's options to be limited, kinda like NL sometimes lol

In this Episode: NL Decides he doesn't need odds anymore. All of NL's good things need odds to come into play. Also I feel like one of the most meaningful changes to Cactus was changing his thorns gain from 2 to 1, which is actually really significant. Unless him getting two for every die used was actually just me not paying attention.

Real minor thing you could be doing that helps (a bit). If you are going to level up after the fight, check what the max damage the enemy could potentially do. If you have more HP than that AND can definitely kill them in one more turn regardless of what you roll, give them that extra turn to build your limit break. Could have entered floor 2 with limit break.

6:08 (Awful Play) Episode 66 (Cursed number) This shall forever be known as The Cursed Nudge Play

I think buying Magic Dagger at 20:00 was the play. In the upgraded slot it becomes a really nice sink for all those non-damaging dice. You often spend two dice to put out and use equipment for damage, but if you instead put them both in the magic dagger, you'd deal more damage. It's definitely better than the Infliction you were carrying. Would have made a great replacement. Upgraded, it deals more damage, I believe. From 2 to 3. All those times you throw dice you could be getting far more damage out of them, and if you think of it, at best you could get 6 damage out of your other dice anyways (using a dice to put out a damage source and then putting a 6 in there) so even with the perfect rolls magic dagger is going even, assuming you put it out on an upgraded slot and keep it there. Usually it's a damage improvement. Having no even/odd/high/low requirement makes it very versatile and I think it helps fill in gaps in many different builds (such as your build, which lacked good things to do with odds.)

NL here is my winning strat for the witch, go for maximum dice production and rerolling with 1 or 2 reliable sources of damage. The big magic spells are really good, but they require you to have control of your dice

I thought he figured out already, that he needs to be doing more damage, faster, to win... The shield helps, but making every fight take 5 turns doesn't. He got one damage spell, and literally said he shouldn't take another because he already has one. And then neglected many times where he could put 2 copies of it on the field at a time. And regularly used his higher evens for utility plays instead of damage.

That first run could have gone a lot better for a lot of reasons, but I feel like having magic shield on a four slot and electric shock on a three slot didn't help. Is putting odd spells on even dice and even spells on odd dice really a good idea?

It's not a good idea. Especially when you have cards like duplicate or gold cauldron or get frozen or whatever. In the late game, NL's strategy has no advantage, if you roll 4 dice the worst you can get is two even and two odds, which works both fine with even-on-even or even-on-odd strategy. But if you roll four dice of the same type, NL's strategy is much worse as he can't do anything (apart from using prepared spells and dice manipulation).

It's good until you get Gold cauldron. If you put even spells on even dice in the spellbook, then odds become dead rolls. Hence the gold cauldron issue: If you want to be efficient with your dice you will put odd spells on evens and vice versa, but gold cauldron makes it so you shouls put everything into evens, which is a bad idea early on in the run.

I think he’s putting too much focus on strategic dice and then having no way to deal damage, like he consistently never uses infliction after floor 2 and totally avoided magic spear and then magic dagger which would’ve suited his play style of the last run with it’s trillions of die

As much as these are cursed plays, I cant help but notice how screwed he consistently gets. Like that last turn was some serious bs, blind dice, and 5 of his 6 dice ended up as a 5 or 6. Egg isn't good at this, but hes definitely not so bad that this should be impossible for him

I know that there's a backlog, but if anyone else is having trouble, here's advice: Slow down. NL does these unnecessary nudge plays and is in awe even when the AI does a normal turn (Like how he almost thought he lived at the end of the video), because he isn't paying attention. NL's struggling because he can't see the clear line that he should take turn to turn, resulting in him not throwing dice, not doing optimal damage, and throwing some potential wins where he wasn't getting unlucky. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a backlogged W by now though.

The amount of times he loses/takes an insane amount of damage to Snowman, Vacuum, Loud Bird and Banshee are off the charts. And I can honestly say that I do the same, they're insanely hard to play against imo

Yeah, all four of those can be pretty rough. Freezing in general can be deadly as the witch unless you have specific spells set on your 1 slot and snowman does pretty high damage anyways, and banshee has the two-pronged problem of being a difficult fight, on a floor where you've likely taken/will take a lot of chip damage with little way to mitigate/heal.
