When we were terrible with Rich Rod and Hoke, I expected losing and hoped we would lose, because the product on the field was bad and I knew they were frauds. I was actively rooting for Ohio State to destroy us in 2010 and they did and it ended Rich Rod. Same with Hoke in 2014. Sparty isn't there yet with Tuck but Hoke went from 11-2 to 7-5 to 5-7 to fired real fast. But if I am Sparty, I am hoping for a beating of epic proportions to ensure needed change is executed. That all but ensures a losing season, no bowl, and required change within the program, which Tuck desperately needs to survive long term. Tuck has earned the right to stay but everything else below him needs an overhaul. What hurt Dantonio was how well the 2017 team did, reaffirming to him that his approach was working, when really it wasn't, they just overachieved. What followed was two more beatings to Michigan and three years of mediocrity, which still impacts the program at its foundation.

Be at peace with either outcome. I am a Spartan, and I want my team to win, and believe that they can, but it’s also entirely possible that they lose. If they do, Mel retains his winning record against Michigan, and MSU still holds the advantage for over a decade, but I believe every fan should keep some sort of faith and send positive energy into the airwaves.

MSU is terrible but the issue is Michigan is a complete team and this has a chance to be their best team in 25 years so its difficult to see a path to victory. Michigan is very very good on both sides. I do think MSU will hold up for a while. Valenti is 100% dead on.

The last time I had confidence in Michigan State winning a football game Bubba Smith and Gene Washington were on the team I didn't have to pray for something weird happening just knew we had a great team and the only way we would lose if something weird happened to us and that's a long time ago

Blind faith is the cornerstone of Spartan famdom. Spartan teams are never beaten. All through the game they fight. That said, the only path to win is that Michigan tries to run the ball obsessively rather than testing the MSU secondary and the MSU run defense shows up as I think it is ready to do. I have faith Harbaugh is dumb enough to lose this game with superior talent across the field.

When Michigan was bad under rich rod and not so great thru hoke and even at first with Harbaugh yes I want Michigan to win like Mike with msu but deep down I knew with msu being very good on their defense and great qbs of cousins and Carson corruthers that Michigan was in trouble they weren’t going to win in fact I feared them getting trashed which happened 2 or 3 times no upset was in my thoughts just knew from what I saw of Michigan they had no running game other than denard with weaker teams of weaker lines not a great passer we were not going to beat state and I knew we weren’t going win in the big ten on the road

@@dashiellsisson9263 last year is hardly ancient history and msu needed a reversed call on a sack/fumble/TD recovery to tip the balance in their favor. spartan bob was also hardly ancient history. it's fine if msu gets an upset but if they're gonna, at least be like Appalachian St and get it w/o hijinx. that loss sucked but really haven't thought about it since given it really felt like they earned it.

@@DB-xp9px okay, the “spartan bob” game, MSU took a timeout and didn’t get it back when Michigan had a penalty on the same play, so the refs essentially stole a timeout from MSU, a timeout they would’ve had for that final play. And last year, was Thorne’s knee down? Probably, but there also wasn’t enough to overturn the initial call on field, fine I’ll give you that one, but that call happened in the first half, and you were up 16 points in the second half, that call hardly costed you the game. Also, the refs missed calls that entire game, including a Michigan lineman practically ripping off K9’s head. Stop whining about the refs. The BIG ten refs are notoriously terrible in football and basketball, and it affects every team.

5 Things I believe are all true at the same time. 1- Michigan actually hasn’t played anyone. 2- Penn State is legitimately horrible and they’ll get absolutely exposed at Noon by OSU. 3- Michigan State is not as bad as they have been record wise, even if they aren’t good. 4- Michigan is very overrated and they’re probably closer to 6-10 than 1-5 in the country. 5- Michigan will still win this game bc it’s at home, they are the better team and MSU is having a down year.
