Views of Kathmandu, Patan, Bhaktapur, Bodhnath and villages of the Valley. Discover or remind yourself how this looked like in the 1980's. Image quality is the best I could get from pictures more than 35 years old.

One of the best videos I have come across with so much of human sensibilities. This ancient culture and tradition can not be appreciated unless one has deep understanding of a civilization that is more than couple of thousand years old and still very vibrant. A big thank to Minou.

This is called pure self dependent natural life . In this rare picture, there is no fear no tear . Yes there is looking physically tough life but every and each face have happiness and smile. Cycle of time now the Morden life brought change but change make our life more tough and rough. Now the morden life change out out get up but inner is like wild. In that past life looking like little wild but the heart the inner was so innocent and beautiful , peace. So I love that pure natural life I love my nepal love Kathmandu..pray for pashupatinath May come soon in our society peace prosperity purity.. Jaya nepal

Sincere kudos to you, Minou for capturing 1980's kathmandu in every way possible! If you haven't been back there since I must say things have changed unbelievably! population has increased more than 10 times, much more cars and pollution. A small piece of land would cost you around US$ 2,000-3,000 in 1980, now it will cost you US$300,000 TO 500,000! Locals have gotten richer materially but less happy! BTW the quality of your photos is excellent.

It is still not too late. You can still fix things. Just don't let what happened to kathmandu happen to other towns and cities. That's already a good start.

The architecture of kathmandu is so beautiful. But nothing is done to preserve it, neither from the government nor from the people itself. Today if someone makes a good amount of money, he/she will try to impress by building a concrete block that does not fit in kathmandu's cultural heritage. Why people don't try to revive the old traditional style, is a mystery to me. It is beautiful, relatively cheaper, creates local jobs and overall is nepali.

We all wanted to live in a video, what a misery we have created in the name of urbanization and development. Thanks to the director. Amazing work.
