I have charged the vessels of llanwern and seen the scars of the blow back due to moisture in in 1962, this film does not reflect the turmoil of the brave soles and families involved in steel making.RIP ALL THOSE who tread the the landen of toil and bless the survivors for we are the legacy of Wales X

Thanks for posting, very interesting but also very sad,I have lived through the deliberate de industrialization of the UK and all of the Legacy Political Party's have had a hand in it!

The highly skilled based knowledge based on steelmaking has halted in midair, historically. Such skills enable a civilisation to become progressively advanced. Good viewing.

I used to go into ebbw vale steel works in the late 80s and early 90s with my grandad in his lorry picking up steel coil top hats he drove for John bevan then Oakleys transport from Hereford. I used to hide under the bed as kids weren’t allowed in. I never forgot the one time when my brother was in the lorry as well so both couldn’t hide the gateman saw my brother and he already had a kid in the gatehouse with him from a foreign driver and he went mad and wouldn’t allowed us in so we had to turn round and wait outside for the shunter to bring out the trailer we wanted and take the one we had. He wasn’t happy to say the least. Great days miss you grandad.

Fascinating. Progress and the ever present thirst for profit is pants.
