The biggest issue with all these KZbin reviews is that you never know how long all these mini PCs will last. I bought cheep 5095 Beelink MiniS and it's very unstable - freezes every now and then. I then bought Minisforum UM790PRO (great specs, prob the best available now for mini pcs) and after several months of running it ball-bearings on fan are almost dead (making very loud sound). So yeah, this GMK Tech might be looking like a good value PC, but we're missing longevity tests.

Main point here, is that among the two devices I bought, both of them became faulty after running for a few months

The unstable one could be anything including software issues. Have you tried resetting/reinstalling Windows, updating BIOS (ask Beelink if they have one) or doing a Memtest?

Just got it myself a week back from Aliexpress for just 208 USD (16/ 512). Amazing little pc with performance that matches my 12400 in "windows feel". It had the new bios already installed for the much more quiet fan. Thanks for the video

I'm reviewing this one now. It's a good budget machine but the fan noise is driving me crazy even with the newer firmware. It's not only loud, but a higher pitch. You can see here at 9:45 it's the absolute loudest machine on the list in performance mode.

Was looking for my next best value mini and this was almost perfect! I prefer 8C/16T for emulation, which is why SER5 MAX 5800H holds so well. Beelink however, couldn't get their I/O right after the SER5 line (no 2x USB-A at the front) and GMKtec looks consistent with that layout. I'll be keeping an eye out for this brand, thanks Rob!

Hey man, one of the best measures in a mini-pc is performance per watt. Would love to see some Indicator of power usage vs performance. Maybe some of the 15W amd mobile APUs could be top of the class here.?

whats your speculation on the EGPU not being recognized? software or firmware or hardware incompatibly. it seems like software sense its momentarily recognized by the hardware and even seems to have firmware compatability within that time frame of recognition. curious if you think it can be remedied by a different os.

I believe it's a USB4 20Gbps port and not 40 which is needed for the eGPU. The Kamrui AM08 I reviewed later had the exact same error but USB4 40Gpbs was not mentioned in the marketing material.

components basically from laptop version spec converted to mini itx😅 the cooler just simple OEM laptop fan. i think better make proper pc setup with itx or matx under $300 to $500 with no gpu setup.

No maximum exists for storage. Any marketing material claiming otherwise is wrong. Only RAM has limits.

Hello my dad is trying to decide between this computer and a Mini mac with M2 processor. Any advice? Of course the mini mac costs twice with half storage and ram. He actually will be using it for office work watching youtube, and now an then watch go pro videos, but he likes hes computers to handle multitask and be fast. The 6600H only supports 4800 and overclocking memory was only available on the HX chips, so it won't happen. I can set a higher memory speed now, it doesn't do anything.

Looks to be an AMD hardware lock. The CPU spec page lists only 4800 DDR5 support

Would be nice if you could tell the different resolutions it's able to push. For example, I use 2* 1440p 144Hz but I find that those PCs only say 4K 60Hz and dual 4K 60Hz, but never if it's able to push 1440p at 144Hz or just 120Hz at 1440p. Maybe it does 4K at 60Hz in one screen and the second only 1080p 120Hz. Stuff like that.

The resolution and refresh rate depends on the bandwidth of the ports available. For example if the port maxes out at 4K60, it'll do at least 1440P 120Hz and 1080P 240Hz. Using more displays won't affect this unless there's an iGPU limitation, which I can't think of recently.

Tried Gran Turismo 4 PCSX2 and 1440P was full speed. Any higher resolution drops below 60fps. NFS Most Wanted GC on Dolphin runs well at 1440P but has frame drops and 1080P removes a lot of them. I'd say 1440P for both with most games.

Hi! I selected "Performance" in BIOS settings, but for some unknown reason Rocket League still does not give 60-70 fps, but only 30-40. At the same time, I see that power consumption is never higher than 35W. What could be the reason? The mini PC is the same!

As in the benchmarks, performance mode only increases CPU performance, not GPU. Most games will be bottlenecked by the GPU and not the CPU.

This is a great bang for the buck. But is there a compelling argument versus 7000 and 8000 series APU? I was looking at two mini pcs with the 7840HS CPU. The GMKtec Nucbox K6 and the Beelink SER7. I am looking to play older games and indies titles. But which one? The 8845HS is almost identical to a 7840HS with an NPU. AI seems the buzzword of the moment.

GMKtech has a bit misleading WiFi marketing on the charts - they say WiFi 6 is only 160 MHz and WiFi 6E is 160 MHz - and both can be 160 MHz actually.
