In the tvd books Damon and Elena have quotes that describe their connection as that of twin flames. Even though there are differences between the show and books, I appreciate that there’s scenes in the show where there’s two candles when they’re together. It’s something subtle but I love it. Some of the instances where it happened so far are in 1x4 in the shot where they walk outside to Stefan and Caroline at the Founders party, 2x13 when they enter the mystic grill, in the necklace scene in 3x1, and in this episode when they kiss on the rooftop. Two book quotes 🔥❤️🔥 “When two auras mingled as deeply as this, two souls were laid bare to each other.” “There was a fire inside him that few people could see. She saw it, though. It was like the fire inside her. “

Kyle had no basis for argument. The idea is to empathize with people who die, they had friends, family, they don't necessarily deserve to die just for someone else's amusement, just like you wouldn't want a serial killer to come into your house and kill everyone. your family just because thwy find it amusing. The question is if this person was "forced" into an intervention to stop killing and it worked, would you still defend this person's freedom and what actions that could be prevented in this intervention? most of the people that need help reject violence like people with mental problems, drug addicts, alcoholics,bloodholics lol...

Agreed. I think that’s a problem with these type of shows/movies specifically vampire stuff where vampires kill people for the fun of it & we’re supposed to say “oh that’s savage” or “oh that’s cool” or to just ignore it which is a bit insensitive because that means if we were to see from the victims’ point of views then we’d see that the vampires are all the true villains. Stefan may feel bad about drinking humans’ blood till their heads fall off & becomes the ripper but it doesn’t change anything, he still took those lives & he can never bring them back no matter how bad he feels. No matter how bad any of the vampires feel after they kill either accidentally or when their humanity is turned off.

Like in horror movies specifically slasher movies the unique kills on innocent victims are cheered for- for being cool to look at or for being brutal. But we the audience tend to not care about the random character that get killed if they aren’t main characters because we don’t know them & we don’t feel sympathy because we never knew em to begin with. It’s sad but it is what it is

I’m so glad that Stefan & Lexi never hooked up or dated or anything romantic. I hate the cliche of “males that like females can’t be friends with female that like males because they’ll catch feeling” like it’s so ridiculous in movies & shows. I’m glad that Lexi & Stefan prove that stereotype wrong. They always seem so close but not in the dating way but more like a siblings type of way. Lexi’s like what Rebekah is for Klaus or maybe Elijah just without the toxicity obviously. Actually idk if that’s a good comparison, but you get my point
